I don't think any team going into the offseason has more question marks (yes, even more than the Canadiens) than the Panthros.
http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_se ... -over.htmlThe columnist here is stating like it's fact that Jay Bouwmeester is as good as gone, and there's little reason to think that's wrong.
Bottom line, this team has no personality, no identity. And I'm still completely in the dark as to why this organization remains so high on Rostislav Olesz. What has he done other than get hurt? Weiss led the team in points with 59. I think that says it all right there. Horton appears to have plateau'd as well.
The biggest surprise by far is David Booth, who's likely due for a big raise this offseason.
Zednik, Boynton, and Stillman are all UFAs, I think the most likely re-signing is Zednik. Stillman had a good season for them so he might be retained as well. Boynton's as good as gone.
Where next? What does this team do? So far I'm not sure what to think of Martin's direction of the team. It's true he got handed a shit sandwich in the wake of that horrid Luongo trade, but he seems a little too conservative as a GM for a team that's now missed the playoffs 8 years running.
Is that now the longest playoff drought in the NHL?
