I dunno...that roster looks as anti-Hitch as it gets. Yakupov would be headed to the press box in no time.

Can someone knock the dust off Robbie Ftorek?

Edmonton. Get paid 3 years salary for one year of coaching.

Amazingly without having Mike Milbury as the GM, are the post-lockout Oilers as bad or worse than the Milbury-led Islanders?

Different problems. Milbury drafted really well but then traded his prospects for shit. The Oilers just can't draft beyond the obvious consensus top 5 in the first round. I think they are about equal in suckage, although I think not trading their 1st rounders will eventually lead to them being a decent team. Much sooner than always trading them away for crapola anyway.

Oh yeah, they are definitely different problems. Just comparing results.

The kid who's had a different head coach every single year he's been in the NHL isn't willing to adapt!?

Hmmmmm...looks like Dreger deleted the tweet that said Lowe, MacT, and everyone else couldn't have seen the holes in the roster going into the season.

Hall isn't the uncoachable one.

His lips have taken over and are obviously running the show...

Lol. He was getting absolutely killed for that tweet(he said 18 months ago they couldn't have seen the holes). I think everyone just sees Dreger as a management shill now.

18 months ago:

Quote:
MacT: "I'm an impatient guy and I bring that impatience to this situation. We're at the stage... that we have to do some bold things,"

Yeah, Dreger. They had no fucking idea that after picking 1-1-1-7-3, shoring up their D by grabbing Andrew Ference and actually saying they need to do some bold things, that they couldn't have seen any roster holes

Adding the link where I quoted the above from because the old one is busted in the other thread.

If you're EDM, at draft do u offer No. 1 pick to MTL for Subban/Price package? Or to LA for Doughty/Quick? Gotta get creative, aggressive.

Boy I'm sure Price and Quick would waive those NTCs in a heartbeat!

Yup.

Nice wording on the tweet. He can always fall back to "Well of course you offer it. Who wouldn't?".

@DamoSpin You can offer whatever you want to whoever you want and I guess that's creative but it's not on this planet in terms of reality.

The Fan590 in Toronto's morning show was talking about Cox coming on and having a solution for what ails the Oilers, lol.

I imagine that any trade of Hall or a top-2 pick would land the Oilers a package somewhere in between Cox's "talking point" and Boston's "three players" that they received for Joe Thornton.

I wonder if the Panthros would offer up Huberdeau and another player/prospect for Hall. To be honest they're about the only team in the right kind of situation to take him on, and Hall alongside either Bjugstad or Barkov (or, hell, even Bolland for the two games both would be healthy at the same time) would be way fun to watch.

Well, that's a new way of passing the buck. Now even if MacTavish loses any games as the "transitional" coach, his record won't get dinged.

The Oilers are ending their affiliation with the OKC Barons and the team will fold.

Wait, the name of the company that runs the Barons is "Prodigal!?"

It's funny to me how all these podunk backwaters in upstate New York can sustain teams, but OKC can't make a go of it. Travel's a big reason, but still.

I've been to Binghamton, Glens Falls and Utica. Nothing to scream about.

I like Syracuse and Manchester, though.

I wonder if someone might try to put a team in Uniondale when the Isles move.
