And with their latest acquisition, the Wings are set.

Henrik Zetterberg - Dylan Larkin - Gustav Nyquist
Thomas Vanek - Frans Nielsen - Tomas Tatar
Justin Abdelkader - Riley Sheahan - Andreas Athanasiou
Steve Ott - Darren Helm - Tomas Jurco
Glendening/Miller/Whatever

Pretty good lineup. Even Steve Ott can't make it look bad.

Initial reaction was that this was a stupid fucking day. Still don't really like it.

This team hasn't made it past the first round the past 3 seasons with a younger, better and cheaper version of Darren Helm. What do they do? Sign an older, worse, more expensive Darren Helm. I love Darren Helm, but that is a bad contract.

I haven't delved too far into the Neilsen contract and numbers but seems like some of you guys on here see it as a good move. Honestly age and term worry me. Should I be? (This just brings me back to the Weiss move, which I liked at the time, so maybe this will work in the opposite way).

Vanek...well, we need some scoring. He might provide some, who knows. Dollars are fine for the single year term.

Ott and Miller? Why? Why???

Sheahan and Marchenko's contracts are perfectly reasonable

All these forward signings all but assure that Mantha starts the year in GR, which he should not be. Will AA be seeing any fucking ice time? Fucking hate that this looks like Pulkkinen and Jurco start the year in the press box. Fuck this. I really hope to see Miller, Ott and Glendening into the press box and quickly. Maybe I'm overreacting but seeing what happened last year with AA, Jurco, Pulkkinen and Mantha does not give me a lot of hope.
.

These moves strike me as a desperate attempt to make the playoffs and not moving to the future, which this team really needs to do after losing Datsyuk and with their D the way it is. No changes to the D at all, and with how they played Smith last year? Fuuuuuuuuck...

Bosc- Nielsen has been extremely durable throughout his decade with the Isles. He may always look like he's about to cry, but that's just his normal expression (that's my wife's analysis). I think he'll stay healthy and his ability to play both sides of the puck is totally underrated. If he was on a bigger market team he'd have at least 1 Selke by now. I am not too upset the Isles lost Okposo, but am very unhappy they lost Nielsen. Apparently Snow offered more years and more AAV, but Nielsen felt it was time for a change. He also said he hated the UFA process, whatever that means.

Thanks!

Welp, Pulkkinen is out for 4-6 months after shoulder surgery. That fucking sucks. Apparently it was early June so the FAs signed make a little more sense.

Oh jesus fucking christ. Fuck right the hell off, Ken Holland.

http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/r ... /87077106/

Luke fucking Glendening gets extended for 4 fucking years for $1.8 fucking million fucking dollars a fucking season.

This deal isn't as potentially cap-back-breaking as Helm's, but it's stupid as hell.

Is 6 years/30M too much coin for Danny DeKeyer?

Yeah. I like DDK, but he's probably not worth that. However, he's 26 years old a year away from UFA. Those guys tend to get paid.

Holland is the opposite of Kevin Lowe. The way Lowe used to fuck with Ryan Smyth on contracts was disgraceful, and then he went out throwing around money and offer sheets to guys outside the org. Holland is overpaying the shit out of his own guys.

Our D is going to pretty fucking bad for pretty fucking long now. Unless Nyquist and Tatar score more, and the kids take a massive leap forward and displace some of the vets, we ain't making the playoffs this year.

Mrazek yet to sign. That's gonna be one hell of a cap situation next offseason with Tatar heading into RFA.

I'm guessing Holland's going to be working like hell to move Howard. Unless things completely blow up with Mrazek.

Mrazek signed for 2 years at $4M AAV. That's figured out for now.

That's just about the perfect bridge contract for a goalie. Holland certainly learned his lesson from Howard.

Something tells me Holland is really regretting that David Legwand trade right about now.

Noted shitbag Steve Ott hurt Tomas Nosek during a fucking scrimmage, because, well, he's a piece of shit.

http://www.wingingitinmotown.com/2016/9 ... ngs-to-say

Apparently the hit was so fucking late that people tracking the play didn't see it.

Holding other teams accountable for cheap shots...by taking cheap shots at players in your own organization?

Fuck Steve Ott.
