Yotes visit Detroit tonight. Looks like the master of the stupidly late "finishing" check and bringer of bullshit after the whistles will be sitting out this one. Good.

Unfortunately I think Hanzal's still playing.

Incidentally, is Max as dirty a player as his old man was?

Hope not. Unfortunately like Tyson Barrie, I have an immediate wariness of the kid because of how big of a douche the father was. It's not fair, but I'm trying not to hold it against the kid since they can't help who their Dad was.

Wings lost both Pulkkinen and Miller to injury :x but still killed the Yotes and chased Mike Smith after a bouncer. 5-1 win and possession-dominant. Don't know if they were a line but the Wings absolutely destroyed Domi, Vermette and Boedker.

I didn't see it, but Av :x

Quote:
Pulkkinen was taken into the boards from behind by Martin Hanzal 6:19 into the game.

Seriously, Hanzal's a complete piece of shit. Unfortunately he's also a really good player so he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Here's the play. Pushes his foot out with the blade of his stick(intentional?) and then ride him into the boards right between the shoulder blades.

Definitely looks intentional to me!

If it is possible, it was even better in person. It happened right in front of me.

I missed the game, but that's four in a row for the Habs, which I suppose was bound to happen after their torrid start.

Point streak snapped with the loss to Buffalo last night. Another 3rd period lead blown, albeit this one without Glendening, Miller and Andersson on the ice.

This is the 9th blown 3rd period lead in 31 games for the Red Wings. I don't have an explanation. The Wings never sat back, but two defensive miscues and we're talking about a 2-1 loss to the Sabres

That is fucking unacceptable.

Wings got smoked by Van but ended up with a point. Lost in the shootout, one in which Howard made some saves!

Wings beat the Flames pretty good last night despite an anemic PP.

On Blashill:

Quote:
I'm really starting to like Blashill and his quick on-the-fly decisions. He started the game with the Kindl-Marchenko pairing, but in their first 3:35 together at 5v5, they were on the ice for 10 shot attempts against and 0 for. Basically they were getting slaughtered. Blashill quickly realized this and switched to Kindl-Green and Smith-Marchenko, who were substantially better.

On Z, after getting banged up against Van:

Quote:
After being questionable to even play the game, Zetterberg absolutely dominated the game in all three periods. He was an offensive dynamo on almost every shift and basically willed the Wings to play better in the 2nd period.

Ew.

Ouellet should be in the lineup with Kindl sitting. The giveaway on the 4th goal was inexcusable.

Win against Nashville on Boxing Day and visiting Minnesota tonight.

Larkin missed last game. Hope he's back tonight.

Game time decision on Larkin. He skated this morning and looked good. The Wings also called up Eric Tangradi to replace Luke Glendening who's out sick. Ericsson is out.

Lost to Pitts 5-2 I think, beat Buffalo 4-3. Tonight against New Jersey and I think Mrazek is starting again.

1-0 over Jersey. Mrazek has now started 6 of 8 . Mrazek is fucking awesome and Bruce was right in calling him a top-10 goalie in the league last season.
