Washington tonight. Still waiting for this team to find it's groove. Hopefully getting Datsyuk back will help :x

Wings pick up a 1-0 win with Athanasiou scoring the only goal that counted for his first NHL goal. It was full red line to red line. He uses his speed to pull out of the corner and away, get down and around the defender, lost control of the puck a bit but picked it up and then fired an awful angle shot that Holtby let through. Holtby clearly dug a goal out of the net in the first but it didn't count. Mrazek with the shutout.

[Edit] Good lord, apparently it was at the end of a 60 second shift too

Wings out Corsi'd the Caps at even strength but Washington's PP put up 11 shots on 3 PPs. Ovechkin had 15 shots total :?

Mrazek was unreal last night. Ovechkin fired a season high, 15 shots, in an effort to break Sergei Fedorov's record of most NHL goals in a career by a Russian. Ovechkin is currently tied with Fedorov at 483. Sergei was at the game and was being honoured for his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Mrazek just stoned Ovechkin and the Caps all night long.

I wonder if Fedorov put any money on the table ...

Quip about Fedorov's lost money? It wasn't through gambling as far as I can tell, and I honestly can't remember hearing anything with him and gambling. Got ripped of by a business associate.

No, I mean legitimately putting a few hundred on the table, like when players play against their old teams.

Anyways, this looks like a potentially poor investment:

Justin Abdelkader on verge of finalizing 7-year contract extension with DET. AAV is expected to be $4M+.

Too long for too much. Like the physical game he brings and he can score, but it's too much money and term at that age coming off of a career year.

Losses to SJ and Boston over the weekend in back to backs.

They dominated SJ.

Shots favoured the Bruins, but Detroit actually had slightly higher Corsi and scoring chances.

http://war-on-ice.com/game3.html?season ... 5201620244

From what I saw, Detroit wasn't putting away great chances in both games. They also had issues getting shots through as evidenced by the number of shots that they had blocked.

Ottawa tonight.

4-3 OT win with Tatar potting the winner on a great backhand play by Nyquist that totally fooled the Sens to put Tatar on a breakaway.

The Corsi battle was fairly even with Detroit having a slight edge, but the Wings had a big difference in shots at 37-25. Getting stuff through/Ottawa not blocking?

For the fans of fancy stats, things are looking up despite the losses to SJ and Boston:

Washington tonight. Hopefully not another 15-shot game for Ovechkin because that's not a recipe for success.

2-1 OT loss to Washington.

LA tonight. Score more goals than the other team, please. Preferably a lot of goals for the Wings.

Beat the Blues in OT, 4-3, with Pulkkinen scoring the winner.

Bruins tonight with Ferraro suiting up against his former team. He'll probably score.

Going to the traditional pre-Thanksgiving game against the B's tonight. This will probably be my last one. I'm just too old for shenanigans anymore so it'll be a quiet night. Still, I'll try and give my last one a good sending off.

I guessed that you would be going to this one, Skip. Have a great time!

OT loss against Boston but a dominant performance by Detroit and one of those games where you ask how Gustavsson kept the puck out of the net(like most of his games). 3rd period was kind of stupid. Detroit had a PP and Zetterberg got clearly tripped. No call to make it a 5-on-3. Of course, Zetterberg trips a guy and gets called for it to make it 4-on-4. The refusal of refs to call shit as it is regardless of the score or penalty situation drives me nuts(including leading to Anaheim's cup win in 2007). Boston got away with a bunch of hooks and grabs as well due to being down 2-1.

Hoping for an absolute shit-kicking of the Oilers by the Wings tonight.

Win against the Oil in OT, then lose to Florida in OT. They keep on giving up 3rd period game tying goals :chris18: And it's not like they are just sitting on leads, either. Can't find the extra insurance goal and can't keep the lead.

Well, they blew a 3-1 lead to go down 4-3, but then tied it up and won in a shootout. They dominated the Sabres but still went to OT :x :?

Tatar went 18CF/1CA last night  The Nyquist-Sheahan-Tatar line was dominant as hell.

Abdelkader 2G, 1A and the fight to complete the Gordie Howe hat trick.
