Holy Moses this team is on the way up:

Seguin and Benn on line one

Spezza and Hemsky on line two

Nichushkin and Eakin in there too.

They've got weapons.

Love the fact that Ruff doesn't give a damn and went ahead and made a superline of Benn-Spezza-Seguin, and holy crap have they been scoring.

Doesn't look like he's very happy with Hemsky at the moment though.

I am rooting for Jyrki Jokipakka to succeed for no other reason than his name.

Was that part of the 2009-2010 goalie profiles that we're waiting for?

Stars have two more seasons of Lehtonen at $5.9 AAV. I guess they have the cap room to handle a $10 million tandem, but...strange. Niemi isn't really an upgrade on Lehtonen, least as far as I can tell.

Meanwhile, Jack Campbell put up so-so numbers in the minors last season. I guess Lehtonen isn't physically capable of starting 50-60 games anymore.

Benn - Seguin - Nichushkin
Sharp - Spezza - Hemsky
Roussel - Eakin - Sceviour
MacKenzie - Fiddler - Eaves/Moen

Goligoski - Klingberg
Nemeth - Demers
Jokipakka - Benn/Oleksiak/Johns

Lehtonen/Niemi

I imagine Nill can't wait to get the sucky Benn off the roster.

Jamie Benn does all his work with his stick, never his mouth.

(seriously, dude, you're 25 and you still think it's gross to go down there?)

Does Jamie Benn deserve to be in the conversation of best player in the league?

GM Jim Nill signs a five-year extension. Stars are first in the central. Times are good in Dallas.

Stars snag Hamhuis, but lose Demers. Fiddler, Sceviour, etc. also gone.

I read somewhere that Nill wants to get Ben Bishop. Huh?

Overall the Hamhuis signing is a great one but I'm not sure the Stars took a step forward.

I don't envy Nill in 2017. Both Benn and Sharp are UFAs.

Nill's rather rough offseason coming to an end. With Calgary releasing him on PTO, the Stars sign Lauri Korpikoski to a 1-year, $1 million deal.
