Mark Barberio is the lone healthy scratch for the Avs. Dom Toninato was sent back to the Eagles, which means the roster only consists of 21 healthy players.

Bednar has said he's going to take advantage of the team's AHL affiliate being just up the road. In cases where both teams play at home, they'll send someone who'd normally be in the press box to Loveland in order to get in some games. Sounds like a plan to me.

4-1 win, and even though two of those 4 were empty-netters that score more or less is indicative of what I saw last night. Avs were flying last night and completely dominated the shot clock and...*checks notes* they put up 60% CF...!?!? I don't quite know how to process this.

Minny opened up the scoring after some miscues from Sammy and the top line led to a Zach Parise goal. Parise was far and away the Wylde's best player last night. Their newly-formed third line of Coyle, Eriksson Ek, and rookie Jordan Greenway was...not good. After that it was all Avalanche except for a lull in the 3rd while the guys wearing Christmas colors tried to get something going. A comical miscommunication led to Dubnyk reaching the bench right when the Avs regained possession of the puck and had WIDE OPEN ice to put it away, which they did.

Avs get goals from Soderberg, MacKinnon, Rantanen (EN), and Compher (EN). All four lines looked solid, though the top line wasn't quite in top gear yet. That's fine, there's plenty of time. New additions Dries, Cole, and especially Calvert looked good.

Saturday against Philly coming up.
