Avs do very poorly in back-to-backs. The good news is they got their putrid performance out of the way in the first game, so they should be good to go tonight!

Andrew Aggozino and Rocco Grimaldo both get callups with Colin Wilson and Gabriel Bourque going on IR. Alex Kerfoot thankfully avoided major injury after taking a hit from that POS Brayden McNabb.

Chris Bigras joins Nikita Zadorov in the press box this evening, Andrei Mironov gets to play in only his second NHL game. His first one was, to put it lightly, bad.

Well, that's more like it! Bednar chose to finally reunited Landeskog with MacKinnon and Rantanen and the trio responded with 4 goals total. MacKinnon especially looked like the kid the Avs took first overall tonight, flying all over the ice and laying down hits, powering his way around.

Rocco Grimaldi (who is apparently recording Christian rock with his new wife) scores his first goal for Colorado.

Yak-Mania may also be coming to an end soon. He played limited minutes on the fourth line, took a dumb penalty and had one promising end-to-end rush cut short when Greer went offsides. He was visibly upset when the ref blew the whistle too.

He's definitely a weird, weird player to watch. For a guy with elite hands and skating ability I don't think I've ever seen a guy struggle to secure passes that weren't perfect tape-to-tape dishes on his stick blade. If it's anywhere near his skates or on his backhand you may as well be sailing it over his head. His decision-making sure seems a bit on the slow side as well. Take all that in addition to what looks like a guy who only turns it up to 11 every now and then and you just don't have a guy who's going to be in the NHL much longer. Oh well, it was worth one last try.

It's a shame, he's a very likable guy, but just not good enough for the NHL. I wonder if the Oilers are so desperate for help on the right side they make a trade/claim for him?
