There have been some dark, dark days in Avalanche history. Last night ranks right near the top...or bottom as the case may be.

To summarize:
Nick Holden led all Avs players in ice time. Nick. Holden.
When down by one in the closing minutes of the game, Roy sent out Cody McLeod as the extra attacker.
Roy used Barrie-Guenin against the Wylde's top line (oh...maybe THAT'S why Parise got a hat trick).
The players themselves didn't have a great game--Duchene was something like -3, Varly let in a couple softies (though Dubnyk did as well), Landeskog was good up until he took a supremely dumb penalty when the game was tied (they scored the go-ahead goal on the ensuing power play) but the decisions leading up to and during the game by the head coach were truly and outrageously inexplicable. We will see if he learns, but for a guy on his 3rd season as a HC in the NHL to do something this bad makes me think he has no business being in the NHL.
It's one game, but...hoo boy.
