Avs FINALLY play a consistent, solid game last night in a 6-3 win over the also-struggling Flames.
Roy finally listened to reason and put Nate Guenin where he belongs in the press box. Gormley skated on the third pairing with Stuart, and, no surprise, the defense looked much, much better. Yes, I know, it's Calgary and they ain't playing well right now, but the D as a whole still played with a lot more jump now that they didn't have a 6-foot anchor bringing them down.
Holden is surprisingly playing decent hockey. He still has no business in the top four (Roy, ya need to put Zadorov back in and keep him in) but after a horrendous shift that saw him nowhere near the defensive zone when the Flames tied it up, he cleaned up his game and did okay.
Duchene, who's been struggling mightily, was put on RW with the two Swedes and so far so good. Two goals.
Somewhat concerned that both Erik Johnson and Tyson Barrie are not 100%. EJ might be hurt, I think Barrie is just struggling to find his game a bit. The suspension seemed to have served as a bit of a wake-up call.
