Without a doubt the 2nd best player to have played his entire career for the Avalanche/Nordiques organization. Probably my favorite Avs player of all time (let's face it, Ray was a Bruin, no matter who retired his # first).

Loved him when he was a freewheeling sniper with Sakic, Tanguay, and Forsberg, but really grew to appreciate him when he completely changed his game and did a lot more of the dirty work when paired with Paul Stastny later in his career.

It's not official, he says he wants time to mull it over this summer, but he asked for the puck after tonight's season finale. Yet another sign this is probably it.

Sure wish he could've had a better sendoff, but it's a stellar career nonetheless. And probably the last number the Avs will be retiring for a long, long time.

A class player. The NHL and true hockey fans everywhere will miss him.

Nice qualifiers.

There aren't too many players in the NW division who drove more daggers into the hearts of Canucks fans as the combination of Sakic and Hejduk. Great player, nothing but respect from this fan. Glad to see that he'll be hanging them up soon.

Great player, deadly scorer for a few seasons before the lockout. Great career. He was a guy I expected to score a lot more after the lockout and was surprised when he didn't.

Losing Forsberg hurt his game way more than anyone is willing to admit. In his brief return (the one that actually counts, not 2011) Hejduk was back to his old self. You could tell he definitely preferred the fancy drop passes, open ice cycling and speed game as opposed to mucking it out along the boards and battling for rebounds in front of the net.

Obviously, yeah, going from Forsberg to Stastny is going to hurt a scoring winger's numbers, but it forced Milan to completely change his game. A shame he was a little too old by the time Duchene found his A game.

Not even sure if half the fans knew what was going on when he lined up for that last faceoff of the game. Nevertheless a true great for this franchise. He deserved something a bit more.
