The highlight? The Avs retiring Joe Sakic's #19 before the first game of the season. Methinks there's a reason they're not waiting for a later game to get this done.

Yep, probably going to be a brutal season. The best I can hope for is improved offense and goaltending from last year (can't be hard to do that) as well as a group that actually looks halfway interested and organized.

What a brutal October. 7-game road trip where we will succumb to the Leafs, Habs, and B's, not to mention bookend dates with San Jose.

Hey Jay, there's a Saturday game on November 14th against the Canucks...let me know if you want to get together for that one or if you want to see your Flamers beat up on the home team they come to town the following month on the 13th. I wouldn't mind seeing the Flyboys on Nov. 23 either.
