Hossa will miss the 17-18 season, go on LTIR: http://www.tsn.ca/blackhawks-hossa-won- ... n-1.784933

What a strange situation.

Something smells fishy here, and it ain't Hossa's equipment.

FWIW, from a Wings fan who is a doc.

No one should be mocking Hossa for this. A number of the meds used for severe skin conditions have horrendous side effects

Mocking him for calling it "unbearable" just because his salary dropped to $1 million is stupid. We don't know what he's going through

I know I'm probably in the minority with this Hossa situation. I assume the worst medically because I've seen the worst. Blame the eye test

There might be some fishiness to it, that's for sure. But we don't know how serious it is.

Okay, what in fuck...it's not surprising the Yotes just traded for Nik Hjalmarsson, that's an annual Hawks tradition, but what's this I'm hearing about a potential trade with the Jax involving Saad and Panarin!?

Finally getting around to reading the 30 thoughts...

Quote:
The sources who confirmed the allergy stressed not to make fun of it, with one saying, “It’s only funny to anyone who’s never had it.” Details are sketchy, because no one would give full information, but the medication necessary to combat the allergy is potent enough that doctors wanted his blood tested every few weeks to make sure there were no major side effects.

That’s very serious stuff, and word is doctors worried about Hossa taking the medicine for extended periods of time.

That's pretty crazy.

That's too bad. I always liked Hossa. He had a great season in Detroit in 2008-2009.

Hossa and his contract traded to ARZ. Chayka grifted them, getting two solid contributors in Oesterle and Hinozostra (sp) for nothing.

Hawks now have enough space for a Skinner or Pacioretty, though.

Hossa speaks about his skin condition that forced him to stop playing. Turns out it started about 6 years ago, got gradually worse and worse, and more gruesome.
