Andrew Shaw calls it a career at 29 due to concussion issues. A throwback of a player who could score and fight, he was a difference maker when healthy, which wasn't often. Hope he's happy and healthy in retirement.

Couldn't stand Shaw when he was in Chicago the first time around. Just a piece of shit who didn't stop whining on the ice.

That said, hope his noggin is ok and that he doesn't suffer long-term.

Wow. I thought he was older than that. Hope he heals well in retirement!

Hope he does not suffer the same neurological issues that have plagued Daniel Carcillo (were they teammates in Chicago?), though Carcillo has done a lot to bring awareness to the fallout from multiple concussions and a lot of the problems with hockey culture (which he admits he perpetuated when he played). Hopefully Shaw does this too.
