Peters essentially benched his entire top line in the third against the Knights. Something definitely seems very wrong in Calgary right now.

This team f'n sucks! Milan Lucic while definitely trying needs to stop......that line was terrible for the first half of last night's game (and every other game I've seen). And then somehow the announcers were saying they were Calgary's best line in the 2nd Half and f'n Peters kept putting them out there! That just shows you how much everyone else sucked old man balls.

Not only is Milan slower than a dump truck but he's not strong on the puck anymore. Love you Milan but if there is some way the Flames can "promote" him to Assistant Coach or Team Mascot (sorry Harvey)...please for the love of a roster spot do so!

Obviously Peters has lost this bunch and the dressing room needs to change....NOW.

They're not gonna trade Johnny Hockey. If they do they're idiots. BUT if they're that dumb they should go and get Fletcher on the phone and see just how much they're willing to pay to bring the Philly boy home.

Again, the issue lies with Monahan and their supreme lack of depth at center. Johnny needs Monahan to really work properly and Monahan gets hurt all the damned time. Wouldn't be surprised if he's hurt right now because he doesn't look right. And when he goes down, there's just no one available to pick it up.

That was crazy last night. Zadorov was messing with Gaudreau last night, to the extent that he actually made Johnny Hockey flinch in the neutral zone and BAIL on a zone entry. I've honestly never seen that before.

Also...the Flames won't admit it but losing Valimaki before the puck really even dropped was nothing short of devastating. It was inevitable that Giordano was going to come back down to earth and now that he's merely good, that blueline looks kinda mediocre. Did Hamonic even play last night? Kylington is okay, but at this point not a worldbeater, and Calgary's already tried moving T.J. Brodie once, and will likely do so again.

Just glad Zac Rinaldo didn't try anything stupid. He was just the horrible hockey player he usually is.

Lucic was out there in the final minutes. Yes, the Lucic that has ZERO GOALS on the season. Peters is already running out of ideas. I'd say Tree-Living is in serious trouble.

Talk of trading Johnny certainly doesn't do anything for his fragile psyche.......but Calgary has a habit of poisoning the player well. Even if he is on a line with Lucic riding protection it isn't going to help because Milan is always going to be 5-7 seconds behind the play. Johnny needs to give his balls a tug. This is a much softer game then it used to be. But there is still going to be some rough stuff. Intimidation and mild violence is still part of this game for now.......

The good thing is that there are a lot of under performing teams out there right now who could swap players. Personally I'd like to see Kyle Turris come to Calgary. But that is going to require dumping Hamonic (no problem there). Brodie becomes more of a problem....obviously he was to be part of any package the Flames were tossing around....but his medical issue throws a wrench in that.

I'd like to see a play for Brady Tkachuk but that's probably just a pipe dream.

For some reason Czarnik and Bennett are on LTIR.........cut bait!

Not too concerned with the D at this point.....the problem that I see is the play style and the lack of effort from the forwards to assist.

All in all its a locker room problem......As I said before Peters has lost this group.......but its not his responsibility to motivate players making millions of dollars. He puts together the game plan and as well-paid professionals this locker room needs to come together and execute just like any other job in the real world.

If Calgary doesn't have a full time Sports Shrink on staff they obviously need one and they need to start looking at new approaches. Maybe these guys need to do some Emergenetics! Run em through a team building boot camp or something.....I know this may sound hokey but a lot of the successful teams treat it like a cult. Its a system and its all hands on deck. I watch Behind the B on NESN and all these dudes are drinking the Kool Aid! It might do this bunch benefit if they watch that show as personal development.

This one is on Treliving and will probably cost him his job no matter what he does at this point (Short of a deep run).

Again, blanked for the 3rd time in 4 games.

I was painfully aware of Johnny's offensive zone bail out many times last night.

In an effort to lighten the load one of the solutions was for the guys to take off their helmets during pre-game skate.........even wind flowing through their well groomed mustaches and hair did not work, go figure!

I could tell a story about tight knit groups.......one that probably is NSFW but I will tell it anyway. One night many moons ago in Okinawa I walked in to the common area to vend a beer (which was usually out). I briefly witnessed something I wish I had not......the STA guys were running a train on a blow up doll! Now these guys have to work together really closely on a daily basis and know each other very intimately..even more so then I had thought. I didn't hang around to see how it ended up. I got my beer and left without directly looking in their direction. These hard chargers had each others backs all the time and had an unbreakable bond while performing their day to day duties.

Now I am not saying the Flames need to go out and run trains....that's not very PC in Canada even though I believe services of this nature are still available providing you aren't the purchaser (C-36 passed in 2014), or as the STA guys did it. But that was an example of a tight knit group performing a team building exercise that required trust and close knowledge of one another.

I think we even have a member on this board that does team building and motivation of a safe for work kind. Maybe he's available!

Listening to the latest 31 Thoughts and Ray & Dregs podcasts. I believe both of them get into the Flames' situation--apparently negotiations are not going all that well with Travis Hamonic. To be honest I don't think he's a major piece going forward. That trade ended up being pretty costly and Hamonic, of whom I used to be a big, big fan, is not really working out.

Akim Aliu on Twitter last night accused Bill Peters (referring to him as Bab's protege) of calling him the n-word.

Story corroborated by former teammates. Peters was even confronted by the captain about it. No way they keep him after this.

well there is more than one way to skin an under-performing cat. He's not gone yet. Convenient out for the Flames and Treliving....uncover some 10 year old allegations and let the Cancel culture descend! I don't like Bill Peters coaching style and he has clearly lost the room so this smells of opportunity all the way around.

The fact that it took ten years for it to finally come out speaks more to how broken hockey culture is (and how profoundly white it is).

Aliu is the same kid who had to endure hazing bullshit from that psychopath Steve Downie, now we're hearing this. Can't imagine one would be motivated to keep playing after running into garbage like that. Way to kill a kid's dream, you fucking assholes.

Ten years or not, get motherfuckers like this OUT of hockey. Unfortunately, the punishment John Vanbiesbrouck received for nearly driving Trevor Daley out of the game was...being appointed head of USA Hockey.

But I agree...if the Flames were winning, Peters would still be there.

He probably looked at going public as a threat to his pro career chances as well.

He DEFINITELY did.

On a side note, absolutely nothing more annoying than a bunch of straight white men coming out and saying "Gee whiz, I don't recall witnessing any racism/misogyny/homophobia from anyone." Of course you didn't, STFU.

I don't know the individual making the accusations and I don't know Bill Peters. I would imagine the lawyers are getting their ducks in a row before they officially announce his firing.

 this discussion has become too racially charged for me....have fun!

Well...are you surprised? It's literally about...racism.

So apparently Peters has physically struck players as well. This is beyond the pale. Even FUCKING DRILL SERGEANTS aren't allowed to do that!

Regardless, he deserves to be removed from hockey, period. I'm sure he'll get another chance, but he shouldn't.

As I suspected it isn't a matter of "if" he gets fired...its a matter of the lawyers trying to get the Flames out of the contract.
