Quite honestly I was flabbergasted when they gave this gent more money.

Everytime I watch this guy he's an adventure.......awesome how he pushed that rebound right to Sutter who swapped it out of the air.

Yeah it was sweet but it was also a gift

I am not sold on Ramo....and if there is a weak link on this team its in net....although you wouldn't know that from the way they played D in the opener.

No....but we'll take a Rask! Here comes Ortio....into the fire against the Isles with an inept D

It could be the same thing plaguing the Avalanche--a surprise resurgence in the midst of a rebuilding effort skewed expectations. Perhaps this is the Flames team that should've shown up the last two seasons. Like the Avs, the current brain trust started off with a pretty awful prospect base.

Still kinda confused as to why Dougie Hamilton has started off so poorly. Perhaps he was sheltered a bit in Boston and is having to adjust to a bigger role.

Maybe a lot of the credit needs to go to coaching. I felt Patrick Roy motivated the Avs in the first year and perhaps its the same with Hartley. Players playing above and beyond only goes so far when the rest of the league takes them seriously.

There are a lot of similarities between both teams (more than I'd like to admit). I was always a bit wishy washy on Hamilton in Boston and I wondered if he could take the next step. Well....we are definitely seeing some struggling. Ironically he picked up a large role last year with Z out and he averaged over 20 minutes a game....so that can't be a problem. The only problem I see is that he is a young man who is getting everything he ever wanted.

This team is f'n awful that's for sure.

and Ortio isn't stopping the puck either.

Thing is, the team even on paper has some gigantic holes. The center corps is solid, but ridiculously young, and there's not a ton of scoring depth on the wings. Johnny Hockey is friggin' awesome, but this team could use another reliable scorer or two. And I don't think Jiri Hudler is that guy, though he still is decent value.

The mishandling of the Sven Baertschi situation was costlier than anyone is willing to admit, though admittedly he ain't exactly tearing it up in Vancouver either. Years of horrible drafting are still taking their toll.

Maybe this is a transition year. They could use another high-profile star in the system as I don't think they really have one (Poirier, perhaps?). Some bad contracts (Jones, all the goaltenders) also come off the books, giving them a ton of cap room. I just hope it doesn't cost Hartley his job.

Could be the Leafs of a few years ago? good season that exceeded expectations but the stats guys said was unsustainable. Believe a similar thing happened with the Avs.

Well throw another one in the mix....

I would assume this means Ortio stays up and that Hiller is hurt for forever now.

Here we are on a 6 game streak and back to .500. Ramo has survived being waived and is now the starting Goaltender! Fancy that shit!

Ramo made a great save against the Stars.

Hiller is done. Ortio gets the start against LA tonight. He has not been good at all this year either. 5 appearances......0-3-1 record with a 4.14 goals-against average and an .862 save percentage

Ortio and Hiller are just terrible. However.....Nick Backstrom the old man can actually stop the puck........give him the rest of the starts!

Reimer as a UFA signing would be my guess for next year.

Eghad, if that's the best out there I am not very excited. And no to Jimmy Howard as well.

Not sure if this is accurate but these are the UFA goalies:

That's not a good list.

I'd take a crack at Cam Ward for one last shot.
