Kipper's time has come. So thanks for almost getting us there and providing your years of admirable service.

With this system and this kind of style they are asking Mikka to be about 10 years younger. He's just not that guy anymore. Very apparent this year.

This team is a train wreck.

Boy I bet you the Tower is thanking his lucky stars!

Somebody better go dust off Brent Krahn or Curtis McElhinney!

Something tells me we've been here before......

Maybe Mason could be acquired to be your Raycroft with the Leafs equivalent. Got any future star goalies in the Flames system you can trade for him?

I still don't think Leland is a bad goalie. The Flames D is terrible....coupled with Hartley's system its a nightmare for anybody occupying the crease. Anderson might be able to handle it but that's about it.

Irving was the 3rd string goalie in Abbotsford this year before the lockout ended. I think it's safe to call him terrible.

ok ok I'll admit the Flames scouting staff is still terrible....but at one point it did give up on Giguere! I've probably got as much hockey sense after 12 beers! Where are you Tower oh yeah...Chicago...I suppose its time to test Danny Taylor. No Joey Macdonald.

Marginal offense x (Bad goalie + shitty D) squared = last place

Pretty much. The Flames with goaltending are really just a bunch of lolz outside of Sutter knowing something about Kipper. Once he lost that familiarity he couldn't do shit about it, either.

I think Dany Sabourin is the best goalie the Flames have developed in the last 15 years. I can't really remember anyone better than him, aside from partial credit for Giguere.

Guess not.

Well guess that means he is going to the Islanders for the free cap hit?

What family reasons did Kiprusoff see?

His final year only pays $1.5 million, rumour has it that he originally had a verbal agreement with the Flames that he would retire this year and never complete the final year. Of course that would royally screw over any team he was traded to if he did that unless they just wanted the cap hit.

His cap hit comes off the books if he retires.

Keenan's comments are hardly revelatory. The league should've clamped down on this shit early. Everyone could see that paying him a sum most career 4th-line forwards in the final year was cap circumvention.

Well Kipper is not exactly thrilled with the attention. Welcome to what have you done for me lately Mikka!

Quote:
“I'm not going to talk about it,” the veteran netminder told George Johnson of the Calgary Herald. “It is what it is, the rumours and stuff going around. I'd rather speak about when I'm playing and what I'm trying to do to win the next game. That's it.”

I guess my question to an aging Kipper is why? why do you want to be here other than family? This team sucks bro! The d is non existent in front of you and you look like a cardboard cut out! Keep your dignity and go elsewhere.

More dialogue between Leafs and Flames re: Kiprusoff trade this wknd. Not close, but more discussion will take place in next 3 days. #TSN

He's got a newborn son, only like a couple of weeks old and doesn't want to leave his family.
