A shame it's ending like this. Definitely one of my favorite players despite the fact he's had his best years with a team I despise.

Yes, but this stretch comes with the 14th-place Flames fighting for whatever remains of their playoff lives.

Seriously? Someone at the Herald has been hitting the pipe. This is not a playoff team. This is a draft lottery team. How far do we have to fall before management and homers see the light?

Anyway, I like Conroy but when he bolted to LA that's when the Flames really lost out on his services. 2007 and 2008 were productive years when he returned but the past 2 years have been dreadful. I still think Fleury should have made the squad over Conroy last year but....ahhhh. Conroy was always asked to do more by this club when we didn't have that sure fire Centreman for Jarome. He has been serviceable and played admirably. Unfortunately time and pride have ways of being a common enemy. At least he's accepted the fact that he's a $500K mentor. Thanks for your service Craig. You've always seemed to be a fine chap. Good luck in your life after your playing days.

He probably should've retired 2 years ago. His popularity amongst his teammates and fans has probably been all that's keeping him in the big league in that time.

He's now cleared waivers. Reports say he's going to go home and talk it over w/his family but it's obvious he's going to hang 'em up. All but ruled out any possibility of going to Abbotsford.

So long Craig...now I have no reason whatsoever to like the Flames.

Retires, joins the front office. The entire team attended the presser.
