CalPuck is understandably apoplectic. It was just a little over a year ago that these same Phlegms had a 5-1 lead on the 'Hawks in the second period, only to lose 6-5; this time, they had a 2-0 lead in the first, before giving up 7 unanswered goals, 6 of them in the second alone. This is also the third consecutive game that the Phlegms had a lead early in the game.

I think the vets on this team are tired of the old school tactics of the Sutters. Expect more coach/GM-killer-type games going forward.

They were tired of the tactics last year.

Kind of a shame that this is likely Sutter-n-Sutter's swan song, because Darryl FINALLY has a worthwhile rookie in Mikael Backlund, Bourque continues to be a revelation, Tanguay is actually playing well to start, and Brendan Morrison has turned out to be a great bargain signing. Unfortunately none of that means shit if guys like Iginla, Bouwmeester, Regehr, and Jokinen continue to not earn their hefty paychecks.

King is understandably hesitant to shitcan Sutter. He remembers all too well how badly the Flames floundered under guys like Craig Button and how quickly Sutter turned their fortunes. But it's time.

I watched this one in it's entirety last night. This should have been a Halloween game - the horror, the horror....

Nice interview with Ovie after the game. Didn't stay tuned for the BMo after hours - I like him and in these circumstances I thought the interview was best avoided.

There's a link to the BMo interview on Pass it to Bulis; apparently they were mentioned in the interview.
