Looks like Jason Botterill is the front runner. They did a 2nd interview today. I don't know much about him (other than he played for the Sabres & Amerks in the early 2000s). Botterill's been tagged as future GM for a couple of years now. A young team with the talent already there like Buffalo is a sweet landing spot. Any traction to the Gillis-Gilman rumours? The other names in that article were all first-timers. |

Haven't heard much about them the past week. The media has jumped all over Botterill. But who knows. They had pretty reported Babcock was a done deal a few years ago and we see how that ended. |

Botterill's the man. The mood surrounding the hiring appears to be positive, and that Jason has put the time in necessary to earn a GM gig. Despite their record, the Sabres are close roster-wise. They just need to keep adding and they should experience a fast rise up the standings soon enough. |
