Looks like Jason Botterill is the front runner. They did a 2nd interview today. I don't know much about him (other than he played for the Sabres & Amerks in the early 2000s). Everything I've read says he's some kind of salary cap whiz.

Sounds like a good choice to me. Sign him up!

Botterill's been tagged as future GM for a couple of years now. A young team with the talent already there like Buffalo is a sweet landing spot.

Any traction to the Gillis-Gilman rumours? The other names in that article were all first-timers.

Haven't heard much about them the past week. The media has jumped all over Botterill. But who knows. They had pretty reported Babcock was a done deal a few years ago and we see how that ended.

Botterill's the man. The mood surrounding the hiring appears to be positive, and that Jason has put the time in necessary to earn a GM gig.

Despite their record, the Sabres are close roster-wise. They just need to keep adding and they should experience a fast rise up the standings soon enough.
