Have we ever really figured out who, if anyone, "won" the trade involving Kane, Bogosian, and Myers? It just feels like those guys are hurt all the damned time so it's a wash.

Kane had a solid year, especially in the 2nd half. I just hope he stays out of trouble this off season.

(Sorry for the reply 2 months after the fact. LOL)

Yeah I listened on NHL radio that he's been a monster down the stretch.

I still think Bogosian is a waste of time, but that's just me.

General Manager Tim Murray and Head Coach Dan Bylsma have been relieved of their duties.

This is Eichel's team.

They've got Rayzor on 960 the fan talking to Rhett (He didn't know until they told him and asked them if they think he listens to Calgary radio in Buffalo).......he's funny as shit. He's driving down to the rink right now but decided not to because he has grass to cut......I think he's wasted (but maybe that's just from getting punched or that Northern NY/VT/Canada hillbilly drawl)!

Rayzor always sounds a little slurry. I think he's got some brain damage. LOL

You'd have to think Eichel's former college coach David Quinn will be considered.

GOD NO!

I love Lindy. He was one of my favorite players growing up. But no! Please no! Nuh uh.

Eichel has a chat with upper management - the next day the GM and coach get sacked. Bad optics.

Understandable. tanking or failing and picking with your first round top ten picks Nylander, Eichel, Reinhart, and Ristolainen is not the hard part of a rebuild it's how you draft, sign, develop, and trade your pieces to add to that core that makes a GM in the NHL and the Sabre's appear to have failed to take a step forward these last two seasons and should have been able too.

That'd be hilarious, especially because we've already seen both Julien and Hitchcock return to their old haunts.

I always wondered when I saw how many people were so reverent when it came to Tim Murray. IMO he never really proved he could build a good team, only that he could dismantle a bad one. I'm not saying he's a bad GM either, but I don't get why some thought he was such a genius.

I said it before, while I think the Sabres are a pretty talented team, they sure seem like a slow team, and you just can't do that in today's NHL. Trust me because I had to witness the only team in the NHL slower than they were.

It was just a joke because people were bringing Ruff's name up again.

Did you see someone had changed the Sabres' Wikipedia page to show Eichel as owner, GM & coach?

I hear some people don't like Harrington, but I thought this was a well-written piece.

Thing is, if the Sabres are in such disarray...what, then, can be used to describe the Avs?

Harrington is kind of a jerk, but he's not always wrong. He's very blunt and I think that's why people don't like him.

I think Eichel's role in things is a bit overblown. But there's probably some truth to the fact that they're trying to keep him happy (whether or not he actually said he wouldn't sign an extension if Bylsma wasn't fired.)

I think Harrington absolutely nailed it when he says that whether or not Eichel actually did go in and strongarm ownership into firing Bylsma, Pegula was completely and absolutely stupid to ignore the optics of firing the GM and coach one friggin' day after meeting with his star player.

For the record I do not think the Sabres are in disarray. A team consisting of O'Reilly, Eichel, Reinhart, Okposo, Ristolainen, and (possibly if he stays) Kulikov is still one you can build a winner from. And if Nylander the Younger is as good as they say, hey, bonus.

Poor Tyler Ennis. Been a loyal Buffalo Soldier for years now and more or less has been marginalized. I wonder if he needs a change of scenery. And I have no idea what in hell happened to Zemgus Girgenssons.

The Pegula's are so bad at PR it's painful. All that money and no sense.

Ennis has been so unlucky with injuries. Girgensons, I think also hasn't been completely healthy. Every once and awhile he'd have a good game but never consistently.

It's not a Sabres or hockey story, but it involves Pegula, so...

http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/te ... e7t8ceidqe

I seriously can't imagine a worse time to fire a GM. Maybe right before free agency begins, but immediately following the draft!?

It's so weird. Most people were calling for Whaley's head when Rex got the ax. Not sure why they waited. I think the Pegila's need to give up on trying to be so hands on and start hiring some people the know what their doing to run things for them.
