Yep, that one is bad. He came from a fair distance away to do it, a headshot, looked like an elbow too, and all after Eriksson had already passed the puck.

The call was Charging NOT Elbowing. What I see is a much larger man shoulder capping Louie Erickson far too late. What you show the picture of is the immediate after collision where Scott continues to move forward and open up and Louie starts to do the chicken.

Here is a video with a couple of angles:

Its a late hit and a charge but I don't see much more. Bad enough I suppose.

Letting Moulson - a rental player - wear Vanek's number and offering a free nameplate exchange is beyond classless.

Vanek was a great player on some pretty mediocre teams. No reason to treat him like a pariah, or like someone who didn't want to be there.

Given that Moulson was already wearing #26 before the trade I don't mind. Now if he was not and switched to that number post trade that would be weird.

Moulson wearing the number is reasonable considering it's the number he has worn. The nameplate exchange seems disrespectful to one of the best players the franchise has ever had.

Kaleta put on waivers just as his suspension is about to end. Hilarious.

The Flyers could use someone to replace Downie.

Granted they lost 6-2 (to the ballin' Quacks), but Grigorenko scoring two goals is good news.

And Rolston benched the top line of Moulson-Hodgson-Ennis. I suppose if you're tanking you may as well let the moron behind the bench do his thing.

I wouldn't mind it if the Avs talk to the Sabres about snagging Moulson. Pittsburgh will probably be the team that ends up with him though.

This doesn't happen too often--the league forbids the Sabres from sending Grigorenko to the AHL on a conditioning assignment.

I keep reading there are possible holdups to sending Grigorenko back to Quebec, like the Remparts will have to move a player in order to take him back.

Huh...didn't know it was Phillippe Boucher who took Roy's place.

Not often that a team breathes a sigh of relief when one of their players gets injured, but Kaleta tearing his ACL means they don't have to address the issue any longer this season.

]The Rochester Americans are currently representing the AHL in this year's Spengler Cup. In this game Patrick Roy's son Frederick gets tossed and proceeds to lose his shit.

New GM, but the circus continues. Reports indicate that Grigorenko was sent back to junior, but that he's refusing to report. Yikes.

Yup, confirmed.

http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/201 ... limbo.html

Still at a loss as to why he was kept up his first season when Lindy was only giving him 4th line minutes. Just staggeringly dumb on the part of coach and GM.

It's understandable that the new brain trust is trying to clean up a mess that was dumped in their lap...not sure there was any way around it.

That kid is under a lot of pressure to grow up pretty damn fast. Poor guy.

Reminds me a bit of hoop dreams.

I wonder what's right for him.

Hope he takes his time and looks after himself first.
