Elliott stating the Bruins may be in on Tyler Bertuzzi........not sure how that's possible unless one of Carlo or Gryz is on the move the other way or this is LTIR with Hall or Foligno. Guess we'll see.

Man the east is doing some heavy lifting during the deadline! I don't think I've seen anything like this......several teams think its their time.

Yep seems so:

The Detroit RedWings today acquired a first-round selection in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft from the Boston Bruins in exchange for left wing Tyler Bertuzzi (Wings retain 50%).

Someone has to go or some type of magic money deal (as the B's are almost half a mil over the cap as of right now)...so stay tuned.

And in other news its being reported the Bruins get a contract done for Pasta.....8 Years at 11.25 per.

Regardless of my personal opinion this was a necessity. The team was at his mercy.....and my opinion of Pasta has changed over the years. He is in the top 5 of scoring and he better remain there for at least 5 more years for that kind of money. He is going to have to lead this team even when Patrice and Brad are gone.

THIS....is truly an all in moment from the Bruins and a more clear vision into the future.

Big news in Boston this morning!

Totally uninteresting news compared to the Bert trade and Pasta extension, but Cam Neely revealed that Derek Forbort got his first name from Derek Sanderson, and he arranged for the two to meet.

No that's totally cool! My son's name actually comes from Kai Nurminen....I believe I was being particularly dominant (I was an NHL master back in the day) with the Kings (that team was not very good even though the roster was decent) while Playing NHL hockey on the Playstation and Kai Nurminen was my boy (maybe NHL 97 or 98 but probably 97 since that was the first year for play by play with Jim Hughson). The announcer dude was constantly yelling Nurminen and my then GF, now current wife picked up on it and that's where Kai's name came from. So I get it! But I don't think we'll ever meet Kai Nurminen.

And there it is.....Taylor Hall to LTIR. Squeaking in under the wire Tampa style! Is there another move in there?

Unfortunately this season is far to epic to be titled Band-aids in transition...........101 points in 61 games. With a 7-1 drubbing over Buffalo. :fry:

Dmitri Orlov is Bobby Orr!

Well...better that reality sets in for a brief spell while there are still games left. They've already secured a spot and I could care less if they break the wins record. Not too concerned at this point.

Forbort done for the rest of the way.

Fortunately the B's are deep. Makes that Orlov add look like time travel wizardry!

Bruins secure the President's trophy against an extra scrappy Columbus team that didn't get the season over memo.

Pasta at 99.

60 Wins.....getting it done in the shootout after an overturned OT Orr-lov winner. Bruins just finding ways to win.

Oooh....I do not like this potential 1st round matchup against the Islanders. :hrm:

The only good thing is whorebag is on this team now and he knows what its like to lose to the Bruins.

That damn guy Pageau is on this team and he is a Beantown killer.

No sir, I do not like this matchup. Let's go Pittsburgh!

Clearly this thread will get a new title once again if 63 is tonight...or at any time in the next 3 games. Still don't like the potential 1st rounder against the Isles.....it has a Columbus/Tampa vibe.

Far cry indeed. Not sure anyone could have predicted this team being in first place in their division much less a incredibly dominant record breaking season. A bunch of ageless wonders on the team. Only concern is due to their age, do they have the stamina to do a full season plus win 16 more games? They certainly have the experience, talent, depth, balance and great goal tending. They have to be very heavy favourites to win it all this year.

If this is a "last hurrah" sort of run, it is the greatest in sports history hands down.

At this time of year since the Nucks are always out of the playoffs I'm usually for teams to root against, and that list always contains the B's. I'm so impressed with this team, and appreciative of the age of their core, I think I'm going to actually be a Bears fan for one playoff run.

Surprisingly, I don't feel the immediate need to wash my hands after typing that.
