Boston native, won a national championship at BC and then went on to play for the Bruins (and elsewhere) passed away at 31. Sad news.

Apparently it was "natural causes," or as natural as they can be for someone who's only 31. Gah...awful.

Happened recently to someone I know in Montreal, about the same age. She had a brain aneurysm in her sleep.

Dustin Penner, being the bastion of goodwill he is, is trying to link Hayes' death with his own unending anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorist rants. Please do not engage that asshole if you happen across that tweet, just report it like I did and hopefully the idiots running that site will take it down.

Not natural at all. Fentanyl is bad news folks. The slope is slippery and Jimmy's family is very brave for bringing this to light.

Here is an article written by Colin Wilson formerly of the Avs.

The Players tribune is very open about letters of mental health and addiction from former players. Carcillo's open letter was well done.

That letter from Corey Hirsch is very eye opening.

Yeah, really sad. And fresh from what Robin Lehner said too. These guys are pushed to the brink physically and brought back with cocktails of meds that would probably render most people catatonic. It's no wonder they get hooked.
