Hometown boy did not make good. He's out after an awful season.

Bellesky and Hayes were terrible signings.

Hayes wasn't a signing, he was acquired via trade for Reilly Smith and the Savard salary dump. Wouldn't be so bad except Reilly Smith was probably the best player gotten out of the Tyler Seguin deal. Not a good series of moves for the Bruins.

I count that as a signing because the Bruins had an opportunity to walk away. However, they gave him a contract for 3 years back in 2015. Its only 2.3 a year...so things must have been pretty bad if he can't hold down a 4th line spot for that money.

Speaking of overrated and overpaid grinders on the Bruins...

It's astounding to me that an organization that makes so many terrible decisions can still be so dominant. Kinda gives you an idea just how good Patrice Bergeron really is. Forget elite, he may be a generational talent as far as two-way players go.

Of course, just imagine how many Cups they'd probably have if they hadn't frittered away Seguin, Wheeler, Hamilton, etc. for table scraps.

Well, Hamilton wasn't going to resign with them for any price - they offered him exactly what he got from Calgary

Though the return should have been higher I suppose... but I read somewhere that Calgary was trying to unload him a year after he signed that deal

In my opinion he was never worth the big money

And ... I know they're playing well this year, but missing the playoffs two straight years and knocked out in 6 games vs. Ottawa is hardly dominant.

Add to the stupid moves signing Charlie McAvoy last year and burning his first year for 6 games

Lest we forget Marchand. My overall disdain for the Bruins hasn't subsided in over a decade.

Yep, that top line is just insane. Pastrnak is elite, Marchand is elite, Bergeron is damn-near a generational talent far as two-way players go. Add to that some other big hits (McAvoy, Carlo, Donato so far, and of course, going big...literally...for Zdeno Chara) and the Bruins seem like that fat old man on the golf course who makes two or three bad shots but then sinks it on the third. I guess it doesn't matter how many missteps you make in the draft/free agency so long as when you hit, you hit big.
