Does the media have nothing better to do than inflate this crap?

If it is indeed true send his ass packing already. Good luck Don!

If Milan Lucic is worth $6 million per, then so is Dougie.

Contrary to popular belief out of the Bruin's locker room not every skater is worth more than 5 Million a year. The Bruins are ripe for pulling off a major, major deal depending on how the season goes. Too many high paid floaters.

I'd like to see Calgary take a shot at Hamilton.

Slam the door Don!

If they dealt Dougie, there's a chance Don Sweeney himself would be Boston's best D in 2015-16.

$7.3m for 4-7 years would get a team Dougie for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounder.

Wonder if the B's can deal Chara instead. A contender might think he's worth the risk. Boston might think the chance he retires early is scary due to the recapture penalty.

I would be OK with this. Interesting to see what type of backlash this would cause fan wise.

If a team really wants Hamilton, they will have to give Boston a first round, second, round, and third round pick in compensation, which puts Hamilton in the $5.4-$7.3 million salary range. That’s something Hamilton’s agents are banking on. (See @OilFanInYYC’s terrific article on how offer sheets work here). Someone is going to offer Dougie Hamilton what he’s looking for and the Bruins hands are tied.

Unfortunately, hate to break it to you, there are other teams in the NHL with more money and more cap space to make that offer to Hamilton than the Oilers. To land a guy like Hamilton, it would depend on Chiarelli’s ability to trade for him with picks and prospects. So, OK fine, there’s a chance. But there’s some high rollers out there.

Boston probably better off with the picks.

Hearing trade call between Boston and Calgary. Working on details but sounds like that's where Hamilton is going.

Wow.

Yeah, hearing this going on from the trade floor in Sunrise on TSN 1040. Who would Calgary have to give up to make that trade though? Goudreau? More?

Maybe both this and next years first?

Wow again. Does this count as a rebuilding move?

I thought it didn't seem like much. Hamilton for all the joking I've made about his vendetta against me is a significant piece.

It's slightly more than what an offer sheet would've gotten back.

Compensation:

Salary from $5,478,986-to-$7,305,316 nets you first, second and third-round picks

So there you go. The threat of offer sheets this offseason is real.
