No. Kessel had a chance to be part of something special in an original-six market. He decided to bail on a young, up and coming team because he wanted to play pond hockey...

Horton was part of an incompetent organization in place that gets as much snow as Egypt gets corn. Every year he had a new coach, new GM, new teammates... the only thing constant was losing...

Kessel wanted out because winning was well down his list of priorities. Horton wanted out because he was sick of losing, and didnt want to be around for yet another rebuild.

Frankly, they couldn't be more different...

Location: Too deep in crease.
Maybe hockey is a game of evil villains and super heroes, I just don't see it...well Avery excluded.

Word :eng101:

Not about good vs. evil at all Hounsy

Kessel wanted a buttload of money, and didn't really want it from the Bruins
Horton's issues weren't about money ... he gave them 5 years, and they never put talent on the ice with him
I didn't have a problem with Ray Bourque asking to be traded, sad as it was; that was an indictment of management, not Bourque
At least he was professional about it, asking behind closed doors, unlike Adam Oates using the media to force the issue

I remember that year, that was the same year a Bruins "veteran" said, in pre-season, "we'll be out of it by Christmas"... Troy Mallette and Jeff Odgers both took up roster spots that year...

Yup .... what Oates said was something like:
"The talent has declined here each year I've been here. This morning I see two guys on the waiver that were on the 1st team power-play with me last week"

Timmay with another shutout last night ... adding to his historic start (first goalie in NHL history to start 5-0, with 1 goal or less in each start)
make it 6 now ... GAA of .5

If he keeps playing like that I wouldn't agrue, but Stamkos isn't doing too badly either.

Earns a star of the week honor, along with Razz's other favorite Jumbo Joe.

And a Star of the Month honor for October. Stamkos and Stewart with the other two.

That's completely fucked. 19 points in 10 games is hugely impressive, sure, but a .984 save percentage and going 6-0 for the month is even closer to perfect... Bullshit.

I don't think it's COMPLETELY fucked, but I too would've given Timmy the #1 star. Still, what Stamkos has done to start the year is impressive as well.

Funny, I was thinking along the same lines when I read the article

Stamkos' numbers are impressive, but they project out to a very good season
If Thomas' numbers are projected out ... it could never happen, people years from now would read it
and assume Thomas was a Middle Eastern dictator trying golf for the first time

I took Rask, Niemi and Varlamov in one pool, and Varlamov as my one goalie in the big money pool (17 guys, 50 bucks each, winner gets 80% ), so I'm not happy either...
