Incidentally, Dano appears to be that sort of player stuck in the nether-region talent-wise of "Valuable trade bait but expendable roster piece." So does that make him the modern-day Mike Sillinger?

So apparently the #MakeItSeven campaign was so we could see seven Canadian teams all miss the playoffs in the same year.

And no, I'm not reveling in this...not even the Canucks.

The Good: Jets have locked down Scheifele and Perreault long term, and with short-term deals for Lowry and Armia reportedly have the cap room to sign Trouba.

The Bad: Trouba remains unsigned and the Jets are still apparently mulling trade offers. Ondrej Pavelec and his contract are still on the books. And they'd be in much better shape if not for the fact that they're in the Central Division.

Not if Nashville finally puts it all together.

Well, yes except for Nashville. Are there still question marks with Rinne? I can't believe he's already 33.

The fact that he's been below-average to bad 3 of the past 4 years.

Holdout defenseman Jacob Trouba officially requests a trade.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/jaco ... ted-trade/

I read the Avs were one of the first teams to contact them. Unlikely he gets dealt to a division rival, but good for Sakic to at least try.

Very excited for Patrik Laine. This could be a playoff team this year.

The Pavelec era is over. Placed on waivers.

Jets spend a small fortune on multi-year deals for Steve Mason and Dimitry Kulikov. Yikes.
