Read the article before you weigh in. Is he officially on the block? No. But there can be no doubt the organization has soured on the kid. Frankly, and yes I realize d-men take a while longer to develop and he's only 20, I haven't been impressed at all whenever I see the kid play. Most of the time he just looks like he's standing there or just not involved. If you could put Toby Enstrom's brain in Bogosian's body you'd have the best blueliner in the league hands down.

Frankly, Atlanta has too many big, dumb defensemen who all do the same thing. One of them has to go.

Unless they acquire a player of a similar age and ceiling, it seems useless to give up on him.

They're not a player away from contending, nor are they in any cap trouble.

Try developing some goddamn players for a change. Just like how yesterday's Nordiques became the champion Avalanche, today's Thrashers can become tomorrow's Nordiques.

Bogosian-Oduya is their top D pairing. Maybe if they didn't have a player they had to shelter worse than the Habs did with Bergeron playing so many minutes back there and somehow making the All-Star Game he'd be doing better, but this just reeks of an organization that has shown no idea what the hell they're doing for their entire existence.

The other theory: Dudley never liked the guy and would prefer to make a lateral move to pick up the guy he always wanted.

Boogie for Filatov
Boogie for Boedker

Something like that.

Word is all abuzz on Twitter that Bogo has made it clear he wants out. Let the sweepstakes begin.

I wouldn't mind us giving a go of it, but if the price is Stefan Elliott, no thanks.

I don't really watch any Atlanta games, but when I see them on the highlights when Bogosian's involved it is often -"wow who is that guy?". Great skater and can jump into the play, also a big hitter. But those memories are mostly from last year I don't think I've seen him in the highlights more than a couple times all year. Looks to me like a good candidate for a change of scene but even if he is saying he wants out I'd be surprised if ATL trades him unless they get an over-the-top offer. Although with Buff and Enstrom there is no room for Bogo in the top pairing or top PP for the foreseeable future and they do need forwards badly.

Setoguchi + 1st + Wallin?

AK +1st + Weber?

If they hand the Sharks Bogo for that I'll murder Dudley myself.

That Habs proposal isn't too bad IMO.

I feel like the Avs would have to give up a top prospect/pick as well as a roster player. I'd rather not do that even though Bogosian (despite my low opinion of him) is the type of D-man the Avs don't have anywhere in the organization and desperately need.

Bogo looks like he may be finding his game. Started the season rough as usual but since Enstrom went down he's been getting more ice time and now he's got 4pts and +5 in his last 5 games. Apparently likes the 'peg and working with asst coach Charlie Huddy. The talent is definitely there and he's only 21, maybe this is the year he puts it together.

I think Huddy's a great assistant coach. And frankly if Dale frickin' Hunter can be a head coach, so can he.

From what some Jets fans have told me, even with all his flaws, he's starting to make some marked improvements. He's worth far more than anything they could get for him in trade, so may as well stick with him.

He kinda reminds me of Erik Johnson--tons of talent, not a whole lot of hockey sense. And I still like the EJ trade. No, he'll never be the guy the Thrash were hoping he'd be, but he looks like he'll be a solid, above-average defender.
