Has anyone else seen the Bud commercial that suggests hockey is coming back to Winnipeg? Saw it watching highlights on TSN

If Winnipeg does get a team, it'll be named the Manitoba Moose and not the Winnipeg Jets. Boo...

Reports abounding on Twitter that the Desert Dogs will return to Winnipeg once the playoffs have concluded. I'll believe it when I see it.

Whatever the case I sure as hell hope that #1, they really will be called the Jets and not the Moose, and #2, they don't stick the Avs in the fucking Pacific Division.

Dreger indicates a move may not be imminent, but can only fend off outside interests for about a week or two more.

They should stick the Nucks back into the Pacific (Smythe).

I'd be bummed to lose the Canucks as a division rival, but California-based division rivals in hockey excite me about as much as they do in baseball.

Can't we just stick the dumbass Wylde in there?

according to reports and rumors, Atlanta might get to winterpeg first.

Winnipeg has turned into the Slutty Prom Queen. 2 suitors trying to get in there. well maybe not slutty, cause if slutty there would be two teams in winnipeg

Ongoing negotiations to keep the NHL in Glendale. Atlanta is quickly becoming a real option for Wpg next season. More on TSN.ca soon.

City of Glendale and the 'Yotes find a way to pay their electrical bill this month. 'Yotes survive to fight another day in the desert.

looks like they live to see another year in Phoenix. I wish they would put a media ban on this until something really is finalized!

Sports journalists covering business transactions/civic politics is pretty terrible to follow.

One more year! One more year!

I guess once they got this deep into it they can't just walk away now with out losing a lot of face. On a side note apparently Columbus I read just lost a boat load of money.

I can't remember where I heard it but heard that if Atlanta goes to Winnepeg the thinking is Detroit would replace them in the East.

That wouldn't solve the obvious problem of who joins the SE. Nashville moving to the East would be the most pain free option.

Columbus is the most eastern team in the Western Conference, though, and could really use a reduction in costs. Atlanta relocation causes a lot of dominos to fall.

Apparently there was a promise made by Bettman to Illitch or Jimmy D, then later was completely denied by Bettman or Daly. Given some of the attendance issues with Nashville, Columbus, St. Loo and some other teams in the West and how big a draw the Red Wings are for many of those teams at home, I wouldn't be surprised that after so many of the NHLs attendance issues arising in markets like Phoenix, Nashville and Columbus that Bettman and co would break that promise.
