So, since the cost of running this board for me basically amounts to $0, if any of you feel like making a donation, please do so in beer.

I will most definitely buy you a pitcher if I'm ever in Buffalo... I think that chart also works as a measure of how attractive you think you are as a function of your alcohol intake.

With apologies to Jyrki21, and since I was there, I'll give it a try:

In the beginning, there was but HFBoards. And lo, though the masses felt enriched by this, a few faithful yearned for more enlightenment...

And so out of the Darkness of HFBoards, Faceoff.com was born. And it was good.

But Cali saw the posters there to be of little faith. Posters like Leafs2003, Real Av-American, and Jyrki21. And so Cali led some believers out of the Darkness and gave them sanctuary, and he called it OffThePost.Net. And here, he sought out the non-believers and cast them out into the Darkness.

And OffThePost.Net begat otp.phpbb.com, which begat Offthepost.Org.

And the masses rejoiced. For chuck had led us to the New and Improved Promised Forum.

And it was way bitchin'.

Hey, let's not mix our Biblical metaphors... this is somewhere between Babylon and the Promised Land. Don't we yearn for a return to Offthepost.net still?

I suppose... I might have been there but I have a bad memory... Feel free to elaborate in the proper idiom. I had to fill in since you were on holiday.

Is anyone else a little surprised that we've been at this now for what - five years? I mean since the days of faceoff.com and leafs2003.

This is true. I remember joining the site after the 2003 playoffs, and I was part of the "2nd wave" of OTPers. A lot of you Canuckleheads were already around. In fact, almost the entire board were Cancucks and Avs fans. I don't know why I joined.

Pretty much all the Habs fans joined within a month of then, and we haven't had a newbie since. I think E.L. is still our newest Habs fan member.

Ah yes I remember the early years, migrated over from Faceoff.com around the same time as J21 and AV and Cali. I thought we've been at it for more like 6 or 7 years. Does anyone know the exact start date ?

What ever happened to Leafs 2003 ?

I keep all my website registrations/password emails in a folder and I still have my original email from joining OTP.net which was: Tue 08/04/2003 9:57 PM. I was following the face-off board and AV was one of the few posters who had legitimate hockey insight to post so when he moved to OTP I followed.

I have a bunch of pics I have taken at various meetings throughout the years when I've remembered to bring a camera. I'll post them sometime in the next little while.

I'm glad the board has survived throughout the years.

March 2003 was the start date of the original OTP, so it's been 6 years. But I didn't join until June, so really that's the date that this board gained legitimacy. :P

In the future, March will be universally known as "Off The Post Message Boards Awareness Month" or something to that effect.
