That was awesome!

The defending on the play was comically inept.

No doubt not only back in the day would you never let an offensive guy between you and the goalie but they would have been cleaned out. New NHL where half ass effort rules!

Either way kick ass skill out of these beauties!

I'm soooooo glad it wasn't contested for a high stick. I can see Ukko-Pekka's argument there, it's close, but that's too great a goal to have turned over.

Milano's really blossomed in Anaheim, that ended up being a very savvy move by Murray.

I really don't know if I like the reckless abandon and lack of positional accountability in the name of offense on display this year but as we've discussed elsewhere that's what the NHL wants to display and market and this is the evolution of that over the years.

I can understand the traditionalists view of the "integrity" of the game. To me hockey was the last bastion of team sport where the individual have's could be humbled by the individual have nots on occasion. But over the years that became detrimental to the game and not befitting of inflating salaries. The league of "sports entertainment" needs its highly paid players to showcase without some plugger ruining the gravy train.

And even though I miss the rough stuff and hitting I can't say seeing McDavid dangle through a whole team repeatedly on his way to the net isn't entertaining. Now the flip side is when the defenders just stop bothering to try. Can't hit him, can't slow him down or you'll end up in the box so just just get out of his way and let the goalie deal with it! At least then we won't need the stupid shoot out.

Me, personally, I think the next step is to go to an Olympic size sheet.
