Last five games for the Ducks:

4-1 L v. Habs
6-1 L v. Leafs
9-3 L v. Jets
5-1 L v. Blues
3-0 L v. Isles

And that's with Perry and Kesler coming back. They are officially screwed.

Yes, Duck Dynasty over. Executive VP and general manager Bob Murray will take over as coach for the remainder of the season.

I'm looking forward to figuring out what the issues are. One of the biggest things I have to determine is if we have people who can (lead). I haven't given up on them yet, but I'm worried.

What a mess.

Pretty sure Bob Murray has never been a coach. If he has, it hasn't been anywhere near the NHL level.

Silfverberg extension: 5 years, 5.25M AAV.

Why?

Because Bob Murray is the worst GM in the National Hockey League.

I know many will say Dorion, and they might be right, but I think Murray is worse. Dorion at least has the excuse that he works for Eugene Melnyk.

My God that was some horrid defense in the final seconds of that Hawks/Ducks game last night. Lindholm got turnstiled by Brandon Saad, which forced Manson to cheat over and in turn freed up Kane for the game-winner.

Sorry Dallas, you got your work cut out for you...

Ryan Kesler gets "hip resurfacing" surgery, very likely out for the entirety of the 2019-20 season, and quite possibly done for good.

For all the talk about the Coyotes having shit luck with injuries, the Ducks are right up there.

Love him or hate him he was a formidable foe in his prime. Reading between the lines, he's done.

Ducks supposedly asked for permission to speak to Isles assistant coach Lambert about their vacancy.

No surprise here: Kesler and Eaves will miss the season, go on LTIR.

Canadian University grad alert: Ducks sign D Kodie Curran, who played a full career at U of Calgary before making a name for himself in Sweden. Good luck to him!

The Ducks will probably be bad. Zegras can't come soon enough.

I feel kinda bad, because Dallas Eakins is one of those guys who finds a lot of success in the AHL but just hasn't found the right place in the NHL. He's landed in two really lousy situations and has worked for two of the worst GMs in the league so I can't really say it's on him. Then again after his first disastrous stint in the NHL in Washington, I thought for sure Bruce Cassidy would never coach again at hockey's highest level, and look at him now.

Funny thing I realized: the Ducks have been remarkably consistent in nets over the course of the franchise's existence.

Hebert - Giguere - Hiller - Gibson

Hiller....yeah forgot about him. What happened?

Short career. Stunning in Anaheim for like 5 or 6 years, then fell off a cliff in Calgary - and poof, he's gone.

If the Ducks can quit shooting themselves in the foot and build properly they have a really great core of talent up and coming. Lundestrom and Zegras will be a legit 1-2 center tandem in the league once they get up to speed. Add to that guys like Comtois, Steel, etc., and they're going to be legit. If Murray knew better, he should try and dump most of his veterans where he can and just tank it one more season, and then begin really moving toward building that contender. But since Murray is close to, if not the worst GM in the league, he'll probably just keep squandering the vast amount of talent and potential at his disposal and continue to acquire washed-up stars and career grinders.

Zegras and Drysdale are here and they're gonna be keepers. Time to rebuild around them.
