I was checking the score at work and was quite annoyed to hear the US lost. Oh well.
How about those US Women though?!?!
They did win, that was awesome news. Sadly, one of them was "broadcast" with a single, unmoving fish-eye camera that made it impossible to know what was going on.
Women's hockey appears to have taken a major step back in the last year or so, just when it felt like it was gaining steam. And I think the current fractured state of the women's pro game is affecting the junior level as well, since right now the NWHL clearly does not feature the world's best players.
Anyway...the next few games on the men's side should be fun.
Agreed. I thought the US women winning gold in the olympics would get them more coverage in the US. Nope! And you're right that the NWHL doesn't have the best. I'm sure CWHL fans would argue that they never did, but when you've got the likes of Hillary Knight sitting out, the fans are losing. I haven't been able to get to any NWHL games this year due to kids' hockey schedules. The Whale play 30 minutes from me, but it's like someone purposely matched schedules so we couldn't go. Miss18.2's team got to see the Whale- as they came off the main rink in Danbury and walked to their locker room past our rink,
our game.
