McKenzie says Nico Hischier edges out Nolan Patrick as the #1 guy.

If so, he'd be the first Swiss player to go first overall.

Friedman had some interesting thoughts this morning on 960. Way too many scenarios....where does Duschene go today? Hamonic to the Flames?

How did Cale Maker rise so quickly in the rankings? Wasn't he like 20th two weeks ago?

It's such a crap shoot. So hard to gauge after Nico and Nolan.

Three defencemen under 6'0 taken in the first: Makar, Brannstrom, Liljegren. Never thought I'd see that.

Two Czech leaguers -- Necas and Chytil -- drafted in the first round. Really good sign after years of producing nada and losing their best prospects to major junior.

Round one ends with Pittsburgh dealing their pick to STL for Ryan Reaves.

Man what a boring draft.

Why did Vilardi and Liljegren drop so much?

Not terribly surprising NJ went with Nico. If Lou were still there I'm guessing it would've been Nolan.

Sounds like the only "reach" may have been Vancouver selecting Elias Petterssen 5th overall.

Here's one of those winners/losers articles. Take it for what it's worth.

There were some REALLY big kids up for grabs in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Kinda disappointed the Avs passed on Hague.

Also sounds like whoever was aiming to rebuild Finland as an international hockey power did their job--a lot of Finns picked in the early rounds.

Lastly, two guys with Japanese names went in round 1!

Wait...I think I'm getting my Swedes mixed up. Maybe the reach was Lias Andersson by the Rangers?

I'm really happy with the Nucks pick and don't consider him a reach at all.

Quote:
In 43 games with Timra, spent mostly at left wing, Pettersson scored 41 points (19 goals and 22 assists). The 6’2″ centre is without peers when measured through the pGPS (Prospect Graduation Probabilities System), a byproduct of his gaudy scoring in a professional men’s league as a 17-year-old. When we look at Pettersson’s production through the SEAL (Situational Era Age League), he’s at the top of his entire draft class with 1.73 points per game after the adjustments.

Yeah I think it was Andersson someone freaked about, but even then I didn't see many others piping in.

Kole Lind looks like a nice pickup as well.

Could you elaborate on these measurements a little bit? Thanks

Has anyone who's played for the Shreveport Mudbugs ever make the nhl?

The current franchise has only been in existence for this season.

The old pro team in the WPHL had a few guys play for them near the end of their careers after they played in the NHL.
