OK, I probably won't be tweeting up a storm, but I will be in attendance for today's USA/Finland U20 tilt at the Bell Centre.

I'll be watching Eichel, Hanfin, 2016 prospect Matthews and Hab prospect Lehkonen.

Only saw the 2nd and part of the 3rd.

Eichel is a beast. Also no love lost between him and Honka, who is also pretty damned good. Sami's kid wasn't bad either.

Avs prospect and DU star Will Butcher got player of the game honors for the Yanks. Had a fantastic game. Not nearly as impressed with Werenski.

Despite losing the shootout I came away more impressed with Husso than Demko.

Didn't notice Hanifin much, but that's kind of the point, isn't it?

Hanfin looked very poised when he was out. Nothing spectacular but I saw him make a couple of crisp passes in the offensive zone.

Eichel looked dominant in person, but I thought the Finns did an excellent job keeping him to the outside when possible. Eichel spent a lot of time along the perimetre, although he's a good enough player to score or set up a goal from anywhere on the ice. I was impressed with his passing. A couple of his passes could have resulted in goals, but his passing was too hot for his less talented teammates. By the third, the pro-Fin crowd was booing Eichel every time he touched the puck.

Somewhat impressed with Hab prospect Artturi Lehkonen, who spent the Fin powerplays entrenched in the opposing crease. Flashed some decent one-on-one skills too.

Matthews isn't ready for prime time. Big kid, but he took two bad penalties and spent a lot of time hanging in the neutral zone. Never really carried the puck.

Husso was the player of the game for both teams. The big galoot kept Finland in it till the end.

The game was sparsely attended. A Panthers-sized crowd, if you will. And those who were there were pretty sleepy till the third.
