Canada wins over Finland in an exhibition match. McDavid with 2 assists, Mantha, Horvat, Ekblad, and Dumba with the goals.

I heard Finland took an early 1-0 lead after Avs prized prospect Chris Bigras coughed up the puck. Whoops.

Shinkaruk and Damon Severson sent back.

Yanks already lost to Sweden 4-2.

Sweden has Forsberg and Lindholm back on the team. They're going to be pretty damn strong in front of what I expect will be a very supportive crowd. First World Jrs in Sweden since the nation truly fell in love with the tournament. Should be lots of fun.

Fixed this to reflect the correct championship year.

Have Sweden as the favourites, Canada/USA/Russia as a bit behind them.

I think it's appropriate if we just talk about a 'big 4' in hockey internationally going forward.

Another smug, humourless Canadian junior team that's impossible to love.

Caught it after you propped the game, thanks Harmy it was really worth it. That was probably the first and last time McDavid is ever benched in his life, good for you Sutter. (too bad you didn't leave him there)

And man that was a lazy ass penalty on Mantha, hope it's a one off and not indicative of what he normally brings or Bosc will quickly have less hair than I do.

And huge kudos to the Czech team.

Consistent effort is supposed to be his biggest flaw. :?

Oh hey, work VPN based in the US, so nhl.com stream while working from home until noon. Nice.

Stupid TSN for not streaming the tournament

Nic Petan, who I wanted the Habs to pick badly, is having a whale of a tournament for an 18 year old. To go along with a gazillion points in the toughest division in junior hockey.

His go-ahead goal against the Czechs was kind of funny. He had Mantha sitting wide open at the dot with nobody within 15 feet of him, but held onto it walked out and scored.

Didn't realize he had 120 points last season. Wow. Looks like their team was(still is?) pretty stacked.

Fucking fuckity fuck fuck.

At least it's nice to see the Sabres haven't completely ruined Grigorenko and Zadorov yet.

Never take winning your pool for granted. Look the path difference the US and Canada had that hinged on the final round robin game.

Russians beat US, Russian player celebrates to US bench. US player gives him a stick in the face. Stupid move by both.

Read quote from the Russian kid the Sabres own acknowledge the celebration got out of hand and sort of apologize for the team which I found refreshing. Sure couple of the kids on the two teams where being pretty trashy, but fact is there was classy kids out there as well.
