With the trade of their first rounder, the Isles have officially taken themselves out of the running for Griffin Reinhart's little brother Sam. Not like they were considering the option in any event.

Initial ISS rankings have Reinhart and Aaron Ekblad atop the list. Michael Nylander's son Willie and Sami Kapanen's son Kaspari also up there.

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/9 ... prospects/

So I've finally reached the age where players I remember watching in their prime now have sons entering the NHL. Wonderful.

And yes, may as well talk about 2015 since the Connor McDavid hype train has already left the station.

Sam Reinhart will be in the NHL next year. No doubt about it. He's such a complete star forward.

Can't believe Sask hasn't mentioned Ehlers once.

What is it with Halifax?

Hopefully teamed up with his brother Ryan.

Well why not? This season is already floating around in Crapperville.

Ha- Strome on the brain. :fffffuck: Ryan Reinhart would be a pretty stupid name.

And in response to your first post above- Isles have the ability to change the 1st round to next year according to most Isles blog reports.

Yeah, I think I found out about that after I made the initial post. So they're definitely out of the Connor McDavid sweepstakes. Little to no chance Snow doesn't protect this year's pick.

CSS midterm rankings out.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=699869

Eklblad and Reinhart fall to 3-4 amongst NA skaters, Samuel Bennett and some kid named Leon take the top two spots.

Some very familiar names top the Euro skaters list.

Usually some hyperbole surrounds every given draft class, this time around it's that this is a relatively weak draft. It certainly seems like this is a weaker draft than last year's. No clear-cut #1...but unlike the 2013 draft that didn't necessarily have that, this is for bad reasons.

This Reinhart? Higher. Your Reinhart is lower, though.

Don't call him mine. That's just weird. I never say "we" about teams.

Button's list:

http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=49649

He's got Not-Chris's-Reinhart at #1 and Ekblad at #2. Leon is way down at #11.

NHL Scouts mock draft. Click the tabs to switch between WC and EC.

Western Conference Scout wins since he has Scherbak in his first round and Eastern scout doesn't.

Yeah, another mock draft had the Avs taking Scherbak (they do seem to love the Blades). Nickolet sang his praises on HF, seems like an exciting prospect.
