Well, the draft just so happens to be on the same day as my wife's birthday, and we're vacationing in Missouri to boot, so I might miss some of the theatrics. :x

Guess we will see what happens...a lot of drama leading up to this draft, and I'm sure people are ecstatic about the fact that Edmonton isn't picking first for the first time in four years.

At this point I'm now leaning heavily toward the Avs just keeping the pick and taking MacKinnon. While the blueline corps is still garbage (PLEASE get rid of Zanon and Hunwick) there are other ways to address the need.

Of course now that I say this they'll end up trading down.

Barkov the only surprise so far. All the other picks have been pretty sensible so far, especially Calgary and Edmonton.

Great pickup by Nashville though.

Terrible deal by the Isles though, to give up on Nino so quickly. Clutterbuck's a solid player, but his offensive is middling and he's pretty small for a physical winger.

If the rumours are true that Edmonton offered a 1st, 2nd and a prospect for Schneider and Gillis passed on it just because Edmonton is a rival I'll be pissed.

Secondly, Gillis could have made this trade any time in the last 2 years, has just sat on an asset rather than improve the team.

I really expected more for Schneider think Lameriello wins this one.

A handful of Q guys starting to drop: Erne, Mantha, Gauthier.

Man, the Habs will be able to nab one of them (or Poirier) in all likelihood. Good projects to pick up at their spot.

Smart move by the Wings to pick up the only 50-goal man in the draft. Mantha's been getting a bad rap for being one-dimensional and soft, but he can play.

Geez, as soon as I post that Mantha and Gauthier go off the board.

I hear that was a reach.

Judging by Buffalo's two selections, Tyler Myers is likely up for grabs. Good luck moving that contract though.

Habs land the best goalie in the draft. No pressure, kid.

Habs pick Zach Fucale just interviewed by TSN. Kid is amazingly mature, modest and well spoken just comes across as highly intelligent and complete class act with poise well beyond his years. Quite impressive.

Sask get a goalie prospect like Sask has been lobbying for, and it's precisely the kid he doesn't want

Patrick Roy passed on three big name Remparts in the draft: Erne, Duclair, Sorensen.

Goes to show how much he thought of those slackers. :haha:
