Also flooring for basketball as well as nets for both sports. Amazing planning. All in all, $4.25m short on a $36m project.

Hmmm...well, that's Omaha for ya. Lincoln's my city, though I still don't really say that with any amount of pride.

It hasn't always been, has it? Or maybe I was just confused from asking questions about the move when it was going to happen.

Nope, never lived in Omaha...it's an hour away actually. I do lay claim on BOTH the Lancers and Stars though, even though they're archrivals.

Omaha is obviously a more happenin' city (which sounds silly following the Onion story Ian posted), seeing as how it shares a border with a town that allows gambling, but you'd be shocked at how close the cities are and yet how much more severe the weather is in Omaha. They get pelted with way more in the way of hail/blizzards/tornadoes, etc.

But hey, I'm not picky...it's not like me mistaking you for a Reginan or anything. It's Nebraska...really, cities here don't count. It's just one big fat plain.

Damn, that could be the life story of more than half the population here in Trail.....although they will occasionally venture out to Spokane or Kelowna to load up at Costco.

Best quotes I've heard from the locals so far.

"How can you forget where your car keys are, just leave them in the ignition"
"I was invited to a friends barbeque in Fruitvale but it's such a long drive I won't be going" (it's 20 minutes, I'd travel that far just to find a good walk with the dog when I was in Burnaby)

 My company is based in Omaha. This rings true to many of the corporate headquarters folks.

That's outstanding... Perhaps because I've been similarly afflicted...
