USA lost some big talent due to retirements, and that problem is likely only going to get worse, especially if Hilary Knight hangs ‘em up.

Canada and US go home early......ROC plays one hell of a Game against Sweden today and goes 8 rounds in the shootout for the W. I sure have enjoyed hockey games being on when I can't sleep or when I am drinking my coffee.

I don't really understand the need for a shootout in a one game playoff. They could just change the format to 5v5 for 5, 4v4 for 5, 3v3 for 5 and then 2v2 until a win. I've never liked the shootout anyway in a team sport. Its like having a homerun derby in extra innings. Stupid.

Agreed that a shootout in a single game is dumb, but I think they do it because they don't want a game to go long enough to bump back the start of another game. That's a big problem in tournaments. They'll do anything to keep games starting on time.

I've frozen fingers, toes, and cheeks when I was a kid. The unthawing is brutually painful. I cannot imagine how bad this would be.
