I'll plug my PW preview for this, but I wanted to draw attention to Salavat Yulaev Ufa's roster. Honestly, it's full of the people that the NHL could no longer fit in their salary structure anymore, but could probably still play in the league (not 100% on the lines):

Grigorenko - Thoresen - Radulov
Nilsson - Klepis - Antipov
S. Kozlov - Svitov - V. Kozlov
Schastlivy - Zinovyev - Saprykin

Extras: Taratukhin, Konstantin Koltsov (injured)

Kirill Koltsov - Proshkin
Blatak - Kondratiev
Kalinin - Kuteikin

Extra: Omeg appears to be a healthy scratch, believe it or not. Kalinin, Tverdovsky, and Kuetikin have been switched up during the playoffs, though.

Goalies are Erik Ersberg and Vitaly Kolesnik.

This team isn't even that old, aside from Slava Kozlov who is a support player. I honestly think they'd pass in the NHL. I mean, they'd still likely be a lottery team, but I can't honestly say they'd be the worst team in the NHL. Like I said, most of these players just hit that weird point where they were still wanted by the NHL but could make more money in Russia.

Svitov? Thoreson? Sappy? Omeg? Radulov? Nilsson?

It's my dream team. Clearly my Russian doppelganger is their GM.

If they had Petrov, Zogie and Emelin too I'd root for these guys over the Habs.

Is Kirrill Koltsov playing like a #1 defenceman? Is there a current scouting report on him?

He's their PP QB, and is in the top 4 in minutes played every night. Not sure how much PK time he gets (they don't show ice time splits). Proshkin plays a little more icetime than he does overall, but they're within half a minute of each other. They balance the ice time pretty well.

And E.L., Petrov is on their opponents Atlant, with Jan Bulis, Fedor Fedorov and Jaroslav Obsut. Oleg is now 39 years old... he's not dominant anymore, but he's still kicking.
