Hillary Knight with her 45th goal to lead all time in WWC play, jumping ahead of Cammi Granato. Beauty of a goal.

Typically, the US & Canada are 3-0 so far. The US has 12 goals and given up 0 so far. Canada with 15 and allowed 4. US & Canada play on 8/26. Should be a great matchup.

Canada looked pretty dominant against the Yanks for a change.

Yeah I think the US are about to start actually playing that game.... now!

I watch more for entertainment than patriotism. That game was not fun to watch.

Not at all. I tried to get a little excitement out of beating the US, but nope. I do think the US was playing rope-a-dope lol

US beat Japan 10-2. Japan's 2 goals were 2 on 1s due to the US defenders joining the play in the offensive zone a bit too much. I think they knew they'd win by a landslide and the D got greedy trying for points. The Japanese coach looked pretty shocked when his team scored their first goal. Both were nice goals.

Canada beat Germany 7-0, outshooting them 52-3.

US vs Finland and Canada vs Switzerland on Monday. Edited to reflect changes made by the IIHF, who originally said the games were today. I get that they want the players well rested for a big game, but Sunday would get better ratings than Monday. And the maximum rest idea is bullshit, as I see the finals are Tuesday. Great planning here!

Shocking- U.S. vs Canada in the gold medal game.

U.S. beating Finland 3-0. Canada beating Switzerland 4-0.

Canada in OT. The US dominated the first period, Canada the second. Third was back and forth. In OT the US looked to be trying too hard to set up a perfect play while Canada went for it every chance they got. MPP with the golden goal, which only she actually knew was in. Play continued for what felt like a full minute after she scored with the US getting one of their better OT chances after it should have been over.

Great hockey. Bummed it's over.

Yep, Canada vs. US yet again, but it doesn't really matter because the games are great to watch. It says something about what the women's game will become once the other countries catch up.

I would LOVE to see that. If I ever win the lottery, this is something I'm doing with the money.

Could be up there with the '87 Canada Cup

US Beats Canada 6-3 for the 2023 World Championship. Canada had a 3-2 lead in the third, but the US tied it at even strength, then Hillary Knight scored 2 PP goals on a lengthy 5 on 3, then 5 on 4. US added an empty netter. Great game!
Knight finished with a hat trick and now has 101 points in international play.

Not the World Cup, but the Rivalry Series. US jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the series and now it's 3-2. Game 6 is Feb 9th. Game 7 Feb 11th. What I could watch of last night's game looked much more tame compared to the first 4 games. I assume because a bunch of the should-be rivals are teammates now on PWHL teams. Either way, two more games to go. Hoping for entertaining games!
