Forward Hayley Wickenheiser, one of the most decorated players in world history. No-brainer.

Defenseman Sergei Zubov. Not a first-ballot guy but he gets in, deservedly. A fun, fun guy to watch during his time in the league.

Center Vaclav Nedomansky, the first player from the Eastern Bloc to defect to play in North America.

Winger Guy Carbonneau. Really? Him? I get he was a warrior and grinder and a great leader and a good player but...really!?

Penguins GM Jim Rutherford.

Boston College coach Jerry York, currently the winningest bench boss in NCAA history.

Sorry...I just don't get the inclusion of Carbonneau. He gets in while Turgeon and Mogilny don't? I dunno...maybe it's just me.

 Jesus. That's fucking brutal. Carbonneau was an excellent defensive center whose career best offensive season was worse than Bob Probert's. Think about that.

Okay, good, glad I'm not the only one.

Seriously, so many better candidates. Alfie, Turgeon, Mogilny...are we seriously just judging this on Stanley Cup wins?

And say what you will about him but I'd vote Jeremy Roenick 20 times before I'd give Carbo a single look.

WTF is going on here? Sounds like the 99 draft.

I'm being told that Guy was one of the best, if not THE best defensive forwards of all time. Still skeptical, and that's why, as others have said, that this process should be more transparent.

Especially on the PK. One of the very few in those days who blocked shots on a regular basis, especially on the PK.

But I totally agree, that there are others more deserving.

However, if it is based on best defensive forward of all time, then I kind of understand also.

What? me on the BS meter? I totally agree there are WAAAAAAY more deserving players, but am trying to make some sense of their logic. A great as Carbo was as a defensive specialist, I would never have thought in a million years he would get into the hall.

No...not at you.....my BS meter is up in general on this! I hear the sense people are trying to make but if they have to do that then maybe they should have waited...could have snuck him in behind a stronger list. That's why I put 1999 here......seems like this whole class outside of Hayley seems to have been over thought.

 Agreed, at best, they should wait til the last chance for him to get in. Anyway, it appears we are all on the same page, he gets in, nothing more to see here.

If Guy played on just about any other team he'd have no shot at the HoF. This seems like the Montreal Ghost stuffing the ballot box.
