Today is the first day we can skate on my sheet of ice.....ughhhhh

Enjoy beacause it's going above freezing again tommorow and most of the week.

By the time we got out there the afternoon sun had softened it up too much and it cracked under my weight. So still at zero days of skating in the yard.

Been a ridiculously warm winter this year. It was well into the 50s today.

First cold week of winter is here in Saskatoon. Decent snowfall Sat. night followed by a long cold snap. Highs this week don't get out of the -20s, lows in the -30s everyday.

Finally have ice thick enough to skate & haven't had the time to use it. Going to be 43 degrees F on Tuesday.

Olde Man Winter has been sleeping on the job this year.

My Daughter and a couple of cousins got a good amount of time on the ice today to finally break it in. yeah!

I just sat in the hot tube and watched and drank beer. lol

Nice.

I shoveled the rink today and am ready for Friday night Date Skate! After the kids go to bed the wife & I are hitting the ice.

Planning on skating most of tomorrow too.

Yeah, invited another family over for an afternoon of kids skating, pizza, and drinks starting at noon.

Should be good and primed by the time the Leafs and Habs meet.

Some hungover Sunday sliding around in the yard. As an old beer league guy being hungover is probably an ideal training technique.

Hey in case my Wife looked out the window I had to look good.

Getting the yard leveled with the spoils from the pool we're getting put in. Going up to a 30'x60' rink this year! Hoping to frame it this week and flood over the weekend. Rumors of the good ol' Polar Vortex hitting next week! Come oooooooooon Vortex!
