So you're not getting your new old-looking stuff? Bummer.

Still getting a retro set. My glove order was in on time and ordered leg pads today from another company. (Simmons)

That's good. I thought you were too late.

Unrelated but neat: Found a nice Sherwood composite stick in the garbage can at the rink. Broken blade. Silly kids don't realize that for $15-25 they can put a relacement blade on. I got me a nice back up stick. Thanks kid!

Age old question- anybody know how to stop a roll of hockey tape from fraying?

Renfrew brand was great no problems. Now I can't find it and the 3M stuff that has replaced it sucks.

Mine doesn't have any brand labeling. But the 3/4" wide roll quickly turns into 5/8", with loose fibers... Royally pisses me off.

My new gloves showed up. If my gear looks like it did when I was a teenager will I feel younger? hope so.

Nice pads Hounsy. They remind me of Coach Coffee-Breath yelling at me to. Well, I have no idea what he was saying, the coffee breath was that bad.
So they made me feel younger. No happy, but younger.

Good luck with them!

I'm getting a bunch of new gear tomorrow. Nothing fancy though.

You should stitch a UPS barcode onto them. They're just so, so, brown.

Thoughts on the quality/authenticity of these jerseys? http://www.ice-hockey-jerseys.com/

Looks like I need to grab a catseye cage for my mask before you can't get them anywhere in Canada...Goalie Heaven in Toronto doesn't have them, but it looks like a Source For Sports in BC does.

Goalie friend of mine said he couldn't find one either- thought they were banned or something. Weird. It's not like a puck could fit through it.

stick blades I think is the problem. I say that as a wearer of cat eye cages.

Maybe go with the don beaupre...or I guess the kids would call it the Tim Thomas.

Oh yeah. Wouldn't have thought of that. But then, I try not to be down on the ice when 4 dudes are poking at the puck, pushing & shoving....

Well that source for sports doesn't have my cage listed on their site anymore, so I'm going to send a picture over to a guy at OTNY in Mississauga to see if he's gone one, or can make one.

http://www.otnywire.com/about.shtml

The Sport Chek in Eaton Centre has Synergy EQ4 skates on for $149 right now, regular $400. Pro Hockey Life is selling them for $200 on sale. I may have to go try on a pair...and if I like them, do I justify buying them? My skates right now are in good shape except for the Achilles Guard, which is losing its stitching and coming apart, though really not bad. I could take it to a shoe repair place to get it fixed...

None left in my size at Eaton Center Sport Chek, or at Pro Hockey Life. 1 pair left at Erin Mills or Square One, so I might have to see if I can make it there.
