And we've got a trade: cap strapped Wild send Kevin Fiala to Los Angeles for the 19th overall pick and former second rounder Brock Faber, the current University of Minnesota captain.

Fiala gets 7 years, 7.9M AAV from LAK. Big coin.

Unexpected potential cap casualty in Tampa: Ryan McDonagh! Bolts are looking for a trade fit. I think they'll give away Killorn too if anyone wants, he looked sluggish out there.

Tampa cap dumps Ryan McDonagh to Nashville for Grant Mismash and Phil Myers, who actually gives you additional cap on a buyout.

Weird move by the Predators. They have a lot tied up for the next 4 years on 3 32+ D-men.

DeBrincat to the Sens!

DeAngelo to the Flyers!

Georgiev to the Avs!

Dach to the Habs!

Husso to the Wings!

I know I’m missing someone…

So Habs fans- what’s Romanov like?

He's probably a middle pairing guy, but I love to watch him play. Not afraid to lay out a big hit, skates well enough to patch up his own mistakes or cover his guy. But he's not elite at anything, may not have much offensive upside and can still make bad mistakes. Also considered an adventure down low. A Matheson type, I'd say.

Thanks. Of course, some Isles fans think this secured the Cup while others say Lou needs to be fired for it because they say Romanov is AHL level at best.
People are funny.

He's definitely somewhere in between

But he and Dobson together could be fun a long time.

Goalie musical chairs at the moment:

Georgiev to COL
Husso to DET
Vanecek to NJ
Mrazek to CHI
Fleury re-signs in MIN
DeSmith re-signs in PIT

With all due respect to Vanecek, he's not really a full-blown starter so I suspect Jersey will deal Blackwood and add a Campbell type. Husso makes an interesting pairing with Ned, and Georgiev just seems like the kind of wayward goalie Colorado can fix. If not there's Frankie.

Kuemper and Campbell will get paid in free agency. Losing teams will settle for Griess, Big Save Dave, Halak, Jones.

Comrie and Lankinen are young and intriguing.

On the trade market there's Bobrov$ky, Blackwood, Matt Murray, Samsonov, maybe Varlamov? Gibson? Allen? Talbot's agent was mad about MAF staying in Minny.

Edmonton, Toronto, New Jersey, Washington, Buffalo are ready to write a cheque or make a big move.

Matt Murray with two picks pinned to his pads to Toronto for future considerations i.e. 11M off the hook.

Dubois trade rumours firing up again. Gotta think whoever misses on Kadri (Rangers, Islanders) will circle back to Winnipeg. Montreal wants him too, but I can't see how they get him without dealing Suzuki, Caufield, Slaf, 2023 1st, and that's all they have.

Rangers have Kakko to offer up. Islanders have Wahlstrom/Beauvillier, which is less exciting.

Boston wants him but lack the NHL ready players Winnipeg probably wants. Flyers are always ready to do something crazy: Provorov+Konecny+Frost?

Weirdly enough, I think the Columbus Blue Jackets made the best (Gaudreau) and worst (Gudbranson) signings of free agency day.

4 year, 16 million for Gudbranson??????? for a #6 or 7 dman? I know he's big, but I don't get what GM's keep seeing in this guy.

Such a weird market that objectively terrible third-pairing blueline goons like NotGudbranson and Chiarot get $4 million per, and an actually-good top four shutdown defenseman like Brett Kulak has to settle for half that because he's not a big guy who hits people.
