On 32 Questions podcast, Elliottte Friedmannn suggested teams will be walking away from many restricted free agents this offseason. Cap space is at a premium and no one wants to overpay a guy. Some names thrown about: Kasperi Kapanen, Pavel Zacha, Denis Gurianov, Dylan Strome, Ethan Bear, Miles Wood. Figure we can add Kubalik too. Something to watch out for. |

Gurianov signs what would've been his qualifying offer. Stars catch a break. I'd also add Georgiev to this list, if the Rangers don't trade him first. They don't have room for a backup that needs a 2.65M QO. |

Some pretty surprising non-tenders, starting with Strome/Kubalik and now Howden, Lemieux, Mete, Dahlen, Steel, Milano, Rem Pitlick etc. |

In addition to the slew of non-quals, we're seeing a whole lot of players getting bought out, and what's surprising is that it's a lot of younger players getting the boot. Some notables: Oskar Lindblom Rudolfs Balcers (seriously, why him?) Michael Del Zotto Patrik Nemeth (hasn't happened yet but reportedly will soon) |

Sorry, I lied. Nemeth will NOT be bought out. I guess they're gearing up for a trade or two, so he'll be the requisite cap dump going the other way. |
