Giroux likely to Florida but nothing official as I hit the hay.

Jack McBain's (son of Andrew) Boston College career survives to Saturday, after which the Minnesota Wild have to trade the Canadian Olympian because he won't sign there. Habs (and Jets) want him real bad. How about Lehkonen for him and the 2nd rounder they'll get for not signing Filip Johansson? Habs can even take Rask's contract.

Shit, forgot about Johansson. Probably the best way to recoup anything out of that disastrous pick.

Avs famously had the chance to get a comp pick from a first round bust (and boy, did Conner Bleackley bust in a hurry) but they traded his rights to Arizona as part of the package for five minutes of Mikkel Boedkker, the Yotes ended up parlaying that compensatory pick to Detroit as part of the package to move up and draft Jakob Chychrun.

If anyone's curious, the Wings used the pick to select Hronek.

Bolts pay a heavy price for young Hagel, but they can afford to do it.

Now Boston gets the prize D Hampus Lindholm. I really thought he would stay but things changed as the week progressed.

It's Giordano or bust for Toronto now, and Pittsburgh/Washington/Carolina are a little too sleepy now that the stakes have risen.

Avs lose out on Giroux to Florida. Fletcher claims there were never any conversations with any teams other than Florida but I don’t believe that for a second.

Ron Francis continues to be a lousy GM by dealing Gio to Toronto with Blackwell (who's pretty good) for...not a first rounder.

TBay at it again. Get Nick Paul from Ottawa for Mathieu Joseph. Paul and Hagel will add some punch.

Giroux confirmed this.

Hagg to Florida with Ekblad hitting LTIR.

McBain to Arizona for a 2nd, even though his college season isn't over. They must assume he'll sign.

Nathan Beaulieu traded for less than nothing to Pittsburgh: a conditional seventh where the condition is basically win the Cup.

I like watching the TSN trade desk but Mike Johnston irritates me. He is everywhere it seems.

Good motivational bout by that little kid on the O Dog!

MJ has a nasally voice, but he's one of the best colour guys/analysts in the game right now. Really enjoy his insights.

Zona trades for the LTIR husk of Bryan Little.

Seattle undoes their expansion draft, trading Appleton to Jets, Johansson to Caps.

As anticipated MAF goes to Minny.....we'll see what type of mileage they get out of him.

After getting MAF, Guerin turned around a traded Kaapo for Middleton to bolster the back end. Guerin's proving to be a pretty aggressive GM, I like it for the typically safe Wild.

I fucking hate they made a couple very sensible moves.

And what's worse, they got an ace netminding prospect who will be ready sooner rather than later.

Leks to Colorado for Justin Barron!
And a 2024 second.

Love this trade for Habs.

Watched Barron in Halifax a LOT.

I think he's a great pick up.

This was another great trade for Montreal.

Wow!

They fleeced Joe.

So, Kulak fetched William Lagasson and a second.

Leks landed Barron and a second.

Habs seem to be stocking up on smallish d men and seconds.

I like this rebuild so far.

Justin Barron is exactly what Montreal needs: a puck-moving defenceman. The previous regime hated them, so there's no one who fits that mold in the pipeline. Even Harris is a bit more simple with his game.
